Review: Sprint Samsung Galaxy SII - Epic 4G Touch - The Mammoth

Recommended Posts

Jelly bean leaked version heavily updated FK09 has been released. Flashing it would cause all ur internal storage to be wiped a few bugs also persist. Look http://forum.xda-dev....php?p=34267788 for more details. Looks awesome.

At this time the stock jellybean fk23 is awesome or you can use the one deodexed and debloated by Dan.

had this phone for about 3 months! its a very snappy phone i would have kept it if it was not for the poor resolution!

Now that's a first. If anything this has one of the best resolution amongst it's contemporaries.

Sadly sold mine today at a paltry sum of just 12k.

208 ppi is definitely less by today's standards..no dhiraj ji?

Even evo3d (contemporary) ,photon 4g.droid3 hav above 250 ppi res..

I trust my eyes only. And it's resolution was mighty good compared to my evo 3d. Colour saturation was slightly better than my note 2.

I had both EVO 3D and S2 (Epic Touch) compared side by side.

Perhaps the only reason i did not go for S2 was it's awful resolution compared to EVO 3D in all respects like text, web browsing & videos.

see the worst part was that evo 3d had a smaller screen and better resolution, and the epic touch had a way bigger screen but lesser res so the text was very pixelated! it was more crisp on the evo 3d! used both the phones so saying :)

So did I compare both as I owned both. Anyways, each to his own judgment. Perhaps I like bigger text as I am getting old...

S2 was a near perfect phone for me except perhaps the notchy GPS. It was a perfect size to handle. I am sad to let it go.

Like epic 4g, try a different ROM. The GPS worked better for me.

Anyone here got the JB 4.1.2 leak for S2 ?
seems kinna late to the parteh mate !!!

by and large all updated members on the forum are on JB

infact a new leak is just out in FL04

just flashed it about an hour agao , not much change than FK23 , but some lesser bug fixes only .

On my part i can say , i had many options to choose when i upgraded , but decided on Epic Touch

the USPs i looked in it were

1.. best size , never had a phone which is so perfect to hold with right width and height , totally awesome to operate via one hand,

2.. the hardware is so solid of this phone

3.. the GPU and CPU both are advanced as compared to its contemporaries

4.. Yes the screen was a bit of a iffy thing , but JB has improved the screen and made it so damn crsip now ,

5.. i never enjoyed touchwiz so much as much i am , on JB

Love it , but then there are other phones as well that i love

Done with the update? Any pre-requisites for update? Do I need to be in FL23 or so? Any significant changes from many custom JB ROMs? Pls share..
