Recommended Posts

^

Galaxy SII from Sprint i.e. Epic 4G Touch is already topping all wish lists for December shopping due to its falling prices. Top of the list from Engadget (a known iphone lover) goes something like this -

Entry Level - HTC Wildfire S

Mid Budget - Epic 4G touch (Galaxy S2)

Money no issue - Galaxy Nexus (yet to be launched)

and yes the also-ran included the iphone.... lolz

Sprint pushing firmware update to Epic 4G Touch, fixes hotspot connectivity and signal strength

Source

epic-4g-touch.jpg

Has your Hesse-blessed Epic 4G Touch been acting up? Never fear, a fix for the WiMAX-equipped handset is on the way. Sprint's begun rolling out an update for its Galaxy S II variant that should address a couple of irksome bugs -- namely, the loss of 4G hotspot connectivity while on a call, and a boost for the wireless radio. The firmware update'll hit phones in a phased release and should take about ten minutes to complete. Sorry, there's no option for a manual download, so you'll just have to wait your turn in the random line.

Didn't see anything special for us. Mainly fixes some 4G bugs which we dont use anyways. It does update Android to 2.3.6 though.

And the big sign of joy is the screen stays put in its place, instead of bobbing up and down like it used too earlier over the auto correct/suggestion line... Yay

Hi all..

I am unable to play YouTube videos or play saavn songs. Any idea? It doesn't give any errors but doesn't play even.

Earlier i had seen it working but after that i installed couple of different roms. I think it stopped working after I installed el13 but not sure. Now i tried reverting to all 4 different rom thru.nandroid backup and also upgraded modem to el26 but still can't play YouTube even though i can search n browse within YouTube app just no streaming video.

Awaiting help from gurus...

Frost-white version of Samsung Epic 4G Touch to hit Sprint shelves on January 8

Posted by Rebecca on January 8, 2012 in Featured, Samsung, Smartphones

whiteepictouch.jpgAs early as December, it was already rumored that Sprint’s Samsung Epic 4G Touch will get treated to a new paint job and get released in a frost-white version. Considering that it has been a successful marketing strategy to release an all-black smartphone in a white colorway and the fact that the Samsung Galaxy S II, from which the Epic 4G Touch is based from, already has a lily-white iteration, the white version of the Epic 4G Touch is a bit late already. Well, better late than never, right?

Just a couple of days back, the rumor mills went ablaze with the speculation that the white Epic 4G Touch will hit the shelves come January 8. It turned out that the rumors panned out because Sprint just made the announcement that indeed, the frost-white version of the Epic 4G Touch will land on stores this coming January 8. If you are already tired of the same, old smartphone that looks like an ugly slab of black plastic, then the white Epic 4G Touch is your best bet.
