Samsung i929 Galaxy S II Duos With Dual-Network Support Pops Up

Recommended Posts

It appears that Samsung has quietly released a new member of their Galaxy S

II family. The Samsung I929 Galaxy S II Duos is the China telecom version

of the extremely popular smartphone and is the first Galaxy S II device to

come with both CDMA2000 and GSM support.

The Samsung I929 Galaxy S II

Duos Source<http://www.gsmarena.com/samsung_i929_galaxy_s_ii_duos-4387.php>

is

built around a 4.52" WVGA Super AMOLED Plus screen and features a 1.2 GHz

dual-core CPU. The company hasn't published the exact details of the

chipset, but the clock speed of the CPU suggests that the Galaxy S II Duos

runs on a modified Exynos.

The China-bound Samsung I929 Galaxy S II Duos comes with an 8 megapixel

1080p video-capturing main camera and a 2 megapixel front-facing snapper.

The smartphone comes with Android 2.3 Gingerbread at launch, but hopefully,

will join the rest of the Galaxy S II family in getting ICS update at the

start of next year.

As expected, connectivity is well covered with Wi-Fi, GPS, Bluetooth,

microUSB and 3.5mm audio jack all on board. There are 16GB of onboard

storage, which is expandable by up to 32GB thanks to the microSD card slot.

Samsung I929 Galaxy S II Duos is slightly thicker (9.8mm) and heavier (132

g) than its international

sibling<http://www.gsmarena.com/samsung_i9100_galaxy_s_ii-3621.php>,

but has a larger, 1800 mAh battery, to show for it.

It will surely be a super hit here.

And surely force DINC 2 to take back seat. Motorola XT800 will look ancient.

I'll wait for this.

There is no comparison between the two..... Dinc2 and S2

Neither technically nor financially.

I don't think that S2 Duos will cost below 33-35K.

Phones in china are expensive than India.

Even the Chinese ones.

For example Galaxy y, cost like 8-9k in china. But I bought it for rs. 6900 recently.

I wanted to point out at the OMH feature of DINC2 what is making it hot favourite. If SGII Duos comes with OMH for CDMA, that will be hit, there is no doubt.

Looking at the features, I know that the phones differ technically and functionally.

And there are many persons to belch out more than 33K in our poor country, handset makers know it :SI:

If you check the specs carefully, this phone doesn't come with 3G version. Absolutely waste to invest in this phone.

Yes, I also noted this on the specs page. This phone will be helpful for those who will want to use CDMA as the primary number.

Just like Motorola XT 800 has GSM 3G but has only 1X.

correction for XT800

XT800 has EVDO Rev A in CDMA + EDGE on GSM

If that the case I guess both Dinc2 and mopho (Motorola Photon) is the best dual network phones for now as both evdo and 3g on gsm are supported. And the switch from cdma to gsm or vice versa takes around 3 to 5 secs only :Sorprendido:

Afaik Hetal bhai tested it and only voice and sms was working with no data :nerves: However, there is a similar post over the forum which mentioned that some people using china telecom were able to use ruim for both data and voice.

hello friends... just been through all the posts regarding the dual Sim S2... as most of the us require 3g with GSM network many people do doubt on this handset to be a major success like the GSM s2 (i9100) but as seen CDMA s2 getting more and more popular now a days the chances of this handset increases i guess !... anyway... i would be thankful if someone updates if we can get the phone here in India... Guys I'm just a new member here... and thanks to you all... being here is a great experience there is too much to learn and share keep up the good work...

So this phone never got released in India! Will be an instant sell out if they release it here, especially now considering that the data plans on reliance are good, and give you speeds matchin to that of 3G.

I would've loved this phone if it is dual mode GSM... Whatever the dual sim available is not of high config.. Hope someone release one soon.
