Suggestion, If possible should have information on whether it is CDMA/GSM, one at a time, dual standby or dual active. This will also help users to choose the handset.

hey all,

Its not that i am in need atm but would like to know which imported handsets at this point of time have a dual network cum dual standby feature in CDMA + GSM

whatever i have seen , the available ones can work only on one network at any point of time.

would appreciate if anyone can point out a few which are truely dual in nature as the ones that are available here in India .

regards

I had one MTS branded ZTE CG990. MTS sells it as MTS Buzz.

Its a decent dual sim GSM+CDMA phone with a great feature. While you are talking on GSM line, it will indicate incoming call from CDMA line. You can switch to the CDMA call and it will put the GSM call on hold.

I tested this phone for 3 parallel connections (GSM_LINE_1 + CDMA_LINE_1 + CDMA_LINE_2). You can talk on one connection and put other two on hold and switch among them easily.

Now this phone is available unlocked also (unofficially) in market.

you mean it can support 2 CDMA connections simultaneously ? if yes then its got a unique plus point not available in any other handset. Or do you just mean call on GSM, Call on CDMA and standard call waiting geature of CDMA?

My nephew is using this phone now. I tested it and found the following:

1) you can use two CDMA lines simultaneously (talk on one, hold the other line).

2) you can use two GSM lines simultaneously (talk on one, hold the other line).

3) you can do conferencing between two CDMA lines.

4) you can do conferencing between two GSM lines.

5) you can not do conferencing between a CDMA & a GSM line (this question will obviously come to you).

6) you can use two CDMA lines and one GSM line (talk on any one, hold the other two lines).

7) you can do conferencing between two CDMA lines and receive a new call on GSM line (talk on GSM, holding the coference call).

8) you can not use two GSM lines and a CDMA line. While you are using two GSM lines, a new CDMA call will appear on screen but you can not pick this CDMA call. The new CDMA call has to go unattended. But the good thing is that you will be aware of the missed CDMA call.

9) No fourth line.

Is anyone have idea about samsung is coming with Galaxy S2 DUOS (GSM + CDMA) or not...???

I don't think samsung will ever launch Galaxy S2 I929 (GSM+CDMA) in India as Ace Duos is not doing well in numbers and if they launch Galaxy S2 Duos then they may barely find any buyer!

Specs of Gsm+Cdma Galaxy S2: http://www.gsmarena.com/samsung_i929_galaxy_s_ii_duos-4387.php

This model also has 3G available in CDMA only
