iPhone 5s does support LTE in India...

Seems Airtel wants to launch LTE on handset before RJIO comes in....

Mostly i believe RJIO should announce some soft launch kind of by dec end...

official may be by next year Aug

I have bought Airtel 4G, getting good speeds around 10-16 Mbps.

Wifi router - 2500/-

postpaid - 2000/- > 40 GB data (wifi router locked plan)

Airtel offers 4G LTE at 3G rates on Apple iPhone in Bangalore



Indian telecom service provider Bharti Airtel announced 4G LTE services at 3G rates on Apple iPhone 5S and iPhone 5C smartphones in Bangalore.


In a statement, Airtel said in Bangalore on Apple iPhone 5s or 5c will be able to experience 4G on their mobile at the current 3G prices while on the move. Customers have to change their existing SIM to a 4G SIM to start enjoying 4G on mobile without any need to migrate from their existing data plan.


Customers on 2G/GPRS data plans/packs can also opt for any of the 3G plans/packs available and enjoy 4G speeds. In addition to these plans, for heavy data users, Airtel also announced the launch of a new 4G plan giving customers 10 GB 4G data for Rs 1,000. While data browsing will be on 4G network, voice calls will be routed on 2G/3G seamlessly with the CSFB (circuit switched fall back) technology.


“Airtel mobile customers using the Apple iPhone 5s and 5c devices can start experience Airtel 4G immediately. While existing Airtel mobile customers have to update their existing SIM to a 4G SIM and select their preferred pack (any existing 3G pack is automatically 4G). New customers can buy the 4G SIM and any 3G data pack/plan,” said Srini Gopalan, director – Consumer Business, Bharti Airtel India.

Good... Now Airtel has won 1800MHz spectrum in TN also and may launch 4G LTE on this new tech neutral 1800MHz spectrum... In that case, there is a mild chance that the free 3G usage allowed in my plan (8GB) may be allowed to use in 4G also... Lets wait and see...

Airtel 4G LTE on smartphones launched in Chandigarh, Mohali and Panchkula



Airtel today launched its 4G LTE service on smartphones in Chandigarh, Mohali and Panchkula. The company had in February debuted its 4G services on mobile in Bangalore and had tied up with Apple to offers the 4G connectivity on iPhone 5C and iPhone 5S. Likewise, this time as well the company has tied up with Apple to launch 4G on mobile in these areas. Airtel was already providing 4G LTE services in the region via 4G dongles and Wi-Fi base stations.


Apple iPhone 5S or iPhone 5C users can upgrade their existing SIM to a 4G SIM and choose from various 4G plan to use Airtel’s 4G network. The operator is also offering demos of the service in the company operated stores in Chandigarh, Mohali and Panchkula.
