I need GSM mobile in the range of 12000 - 13000.

Please suggest me few options which are value for money. Best specification and performance in this price range.

I have Defy Plus in mind. I would request you to provide your review of this handest. On ebay, it is available in 13,300.

Thanks for your time and effort.

Unless you are living in a war zone, you don't need the ruggedness of the Defy Plus :)

Have you considered the Samsung Galaxy Mini 2, Galaxy Ace Plus, LG Optimus Hub and the HTC wildfire S all of which fits your budget.

Would suggest you to go a mobile that has ISC or will get ICS in next few months.

has good spec and have ICS update available too.

there are other Sony Ericsson phones that are cheap and have ICS update you can search on ebay

hi, considering the range you mentioned... have a look on recently launched samsung "GALAXY ACE DUOS"... gsm dual sim... with similar specs to ACE (single sim)... here is the link.. i agree to jayesh ACE PLUS is definately a good choice... but would exceed the range.. near about 15k...

Wildfire S : Poor resolution, small screen, poor battery, slow processor

Galaxy Ace Plus: comparatvley low resolution, very poor battery

Galaxy mini 2: small screen, slower processor, low resolution, poor battery

LG optimus HUb: Smaller screen, lower resolution, resistive screen, slower processor, smaller battery

So, defy plus is coming out as best options....what do you think?

@KS

I am sailing in the same boat. I was about to raise the same question as I also want to buy one for my wife and I too shortlisted defy+.

However, for last 3 days, Spice's 5 days back launched, steller has got my fancy. The specs are superior than Defy+.

It is 1Gz, 2.3, ICS promised, 4", 480x800, dual SIM (GSM), 5 MP, 2000 mAmp. more Detailed : http://mobiles.maxabout.com/spice/mi-425

The negatives for me are : not Gorilla glass, out of 512, 150 MB user memory, not able to root so far (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1695807)

The amazing thing is the price : Rs. 9800 !!

If anybody is able to root it, I am game for it.

Setu, no doubt specs are good ( except few)...but for me , it is difficult to trust a brand like SPICE....my perosonal view :nerves:

I agree. But I guess, to run Android you need a set level of hardware. Besides that this phone cannot be Spice make, it must be a copy of something big coming up for a big brand in near future. Most of the hardware are coming from China and it is possible that these device is mostly imported. If you look at the specs they are using the branded CPU, GPU so major components are already branded. So I am not afraid of Spice especially this type of Android. Had it been regular phones, I would not go for it.

However, I am still waiting for someone to root it. If the wait would be long, I have to decide for something else.

Motorola recently launched a new version of Defy. - XT. And also Mini. However, unable to identify the difference. To me it seems that except a 50 mAmp lower battery in new versions everything is same.

I have compared 10 Phones on just 11 important parameters here. Android Phones 10 to 15k.xls

If Steller would not work, I am leaning on Defy+ and Xperia Ray.

Have a look at the comparison.

^ ^ ^

Considered Karbonn A9? >> http://www.rimweb.in...-ghz-processor/

It also seems to have dev support for rooting on XDA >> http://forum.xda-dev...d.php?t=1670998

If Dual SIM is not must, either Xperia Neo V or Ray is good choice in 13K range.

Rajanbhai,

I think, Karbon A9 is not yet rooted successfully - this is from the same link that you have mentioned. Though initially it mentions the rooting method - none of them worked. Otherwise I am impressed with the specs.

I like you recommending Xperia Neo V or Ray. What about Defy+ ?

Compared to Xperio Neo V/Ray, Defy+ has more internal storage + water, dust & scratch proof.

Nothing much to separate for other specs. >> http://www.gsmarena....2&idPhone2=4098

Neo V/Ray will get ICS update whereas Defy+ will stay on Android 2.3

That difference is already in the excel sheet I attached in the above post. However, though there is no official upgade on defy+, ppl are already on ICS on it. Actually, I asked you for your expert opinion - things which are coming from ur experience or from ur study. Anyway, thanks.
