Thats pretty obvious mate ;P

but what i meant was jellybean being so awesome in itself , should be awesome on EVO too.

anyways the update has been done all over and its a great improvement.

Sprint should have given a jump with android 4.2 . The future of cdma will depend on how these carrier update handsets. In India we have seen cdma vanishing because of handset and carriers attitude, in USA update issue may cause cdma decline too. Every one wants update on first day now...

Indeed.

but please beware, you might face difficulties flashing back to ICS .

As jb changes the partitions in such a way that ICS ROMs don't get booted up.

But there is a way to get it done.;)

Among the new feature power saving mode is the most noticeable. It somehow extends the battery, but off course slows the phone down coz it slows the cpu speed. But Few new screens have been added.

I am collecting money for this phone.

But you guys are making it a tough decision.

Please explain what issues have come across after jellybean update?

Why dont you guys use meanbean latest.

It has loads of fixes and it works like a charm.

And yes jellybean is a pathetic update for evo lte especially if you like to play around with your phone a lot and if you are S on.

But if I remember correctly the dirty racoon guyz had got s off procedure on latest jb too.

I am unable to connect to PC in diag mode after taking the OTA of jellybean...

OTA updated to firmware: 3.15.651.16 710RD with HBOOT 2.09

Even after installing the diag drivers the PC does not latch the device in Diag mode,

Tried it on XP and Win7 also,

So new handsets which are not programmed do not take the OTA...

I had a hell of time to try to S-OFF, during which I had bricked my phone (3 days ago) then unbricked today and now installing MeanBean ROM, lets see if it latches to PC on diag mode on MeanBean ROM.

Will give my feedback....

As I said before , this is the ultra pathetic jellybean update till date by any manufacturer.

It has virtually snatched a lit of freedom from the users and its lousier than ICS as it eats up all then space and memory from this phone.

Luckily I never updated none of my ego ltes to jb.

Contd....

I have installed MeanBean ROM

Tried to latch the device on PC with Diag mode - There is a way out to it, as the Diag drivers will not latch it directly - Link to XDA

Was not successfull on XP

Tried on Win 7 and it worked as mentioned in the XDA post.

Finally things started working...

So I would like to say again

" new handsets which are not programmed do not take the OTA..."

getting s-off through require ruu to be done which contain radio also.

I want to know if i ruu my phone will it be on reliance or it will start searching for sprint network.

Does wifi tethering (i.e.hot spot) work on this phone?

Need positive confirmation. I am considering this handset as one of the options.

Works like a charm but takes only 3 connections... not more than that...

Hi. I currently have a Rooted EVO 4G LTE, HBOOT 2.09 with JEWEL S-ON. Its running software version 3.15.651.16 on android 4.1.1. I've downloaded, but unable to install the OTA that came out on 31/01/13 - 3.16.651.3, without breaking my precious root.

Apparently, there are issues as summarised clearly here: http://www.pocketables.com/2013/02/3-16-651-3-htc-evo-4g-lte-jb-breaks-a-lot-of-root-things.html

I have been scanning through XDA and other forums to find a solution to get this updated without breaking my root or without getting S-off. Alternative solution is to Unroot and Relock, but there again many are facing problems of boot-loop.

Any solutions? Please note my entire knowledge on Android and technicalities are through forums. I am not a techie, I am, what they call, a total n00b. It is my passion which makes me so keen on these topics.
