Install Any India Region Locked App From Android Market On Your Imported CDMA Handset

Recommended Posts

Dear Kailash ji,

Thanks a lot for your precious time to execute Rooting on my phone.

I have now successfully enabled the Market Unlocker app on my phone.

It was very nice to meet you in person. I am happy to get a new friend like you.

Will be in touch...

Thanks again,

Regards,

Sadanand

PS: Also like to thank Rajan ji for this useful topic.

For those who are unable to get the region changed after multiple re-tries, you can try the following steps:

* Enable Airplane mode

* Go to Settings > Apps > All > "Google Play Store" or "Market" -> Clear Data

* Open the app (see op) and set the custom value (make sure root permission is added)

* Restart the phone

* Go to Settings > Apps > All > "Google Play Store" or "Market" -> Clear Data

* The custom value would have reset in the Market Enabler app, so change it again

* Enable wifi

* Sync Gmail

* Open Market, should show the apps in rupees now.

* Disable airplane mode

I got it working on ICS 4.0.3 as well, so it should work but not a straight forward procedure.

Whew!!!

If the mobile is rooted, then also so much pain?

In my rooted Photon, not so much of a problem.

That's why I said, Whew!!!

BTW, if the price is in Usd, our credit card still gets billed in Inr. So, what's the problem? Sorry for the ignorance...

@Arun

There is an easier way to make it work on ICS without all the steps you mentioned.

Just convert the unlocker app in OP as SYSTEM app.

This can be easily done through Titanium Backup Pro (Paid) version OR this free app Apps2ROM can also be used for converting it to system app >> https://play.google.....tools.apps2rom

Procedure:

  • First install the unlocker app normally.
  • Then make it a system app.
  • Reboot the phone.
  • Now set indian operator code in the unlocker app.
  • You can now search, download and install all india region specific apps.

I have tested and it works.
