A-key cannot be written via any tools available on Sprint Samsung Galaxy SIII L710 if upgraded to 4.1.2. To re-program the device we have to go back to factory out of the box L710VPALEN. Only then Akey will be written otherwise it will show CPS error.

Stock Sprint S3 :-http://hotfile.com/dl/163515142/f3ea7d6/L710VPALEN_L710SPRALEN_SPR_www.samsdroid.com.zip.html.

Rooted L710 Stock ROM with instructions:- http://www.theandroidsoul.com/root-sprint-galaxy-s3-and-return-to-stock-without-increasing-flashbinary-counter/

With s3 and note you could do stuff by downgrading the radio version.

But I am pretty sceptical about what will happen with s4 as it is on rigid jb out of the box.

sent from my NOTE II, yupp size does matter.

@kshah

US networks like cricket and page plus flashing methods does not include akey change, is it only reliance which needs akey authentication. And what will Sprint achieve if akey locked phones can be used on US cdma networks.

India and China are big consumer of us phones. With new legislation US consumers can not unlock phones and in coming years it will be implemented strictly

Don't know abt china but india sure does not hv a significant number of cdma smartphone users.

Also irony is big red is leaving gsm unlocked in its cdma phone whereas sprint is locking it all up.

Anyway if it continues it will be bad for our community in terms of new models availability and programming.

Trust our Gurus will Def find a workaround to all and every things the carriers try to throw at us.

@Daaktar babu, au kddi , Japan. hai, sprint nahi hai vo !

@Baba jee

try using epst.apk, (google it), there are many versions, so you need to try 2-3 apks.

Or start terminal emulator (there is apk for that)

Put following command

echo 1 > /dev/qct_diag_enable

Or

To enable diag mode:
echo 1 > /sys/devices/virtual/usb_composite/diag/enable
To disable diag mode:
echo 0 > /sys/devices/virtual/usb_composite/diag/enable
