Review: Sprint Samsung Galaxy Note II - SPH-L900 - The Next Big Thing

Recommended Posts

Any one tried updating?

Updated to 4.3 through zip (knox-free) available at XDAdevs (didn't receive any OTA notification), seems to be working fine so far.

EDIT:

Facing the Youtube issue (as Javed has mentioned), i tried doing what DK and Doc have suggested but i see no Multimedia option under the 'Others' menu (in ##3282# menu). Am using a Sprint note 2, any pointers?

Was also able to sort this issue after updating to 4.3 (Multimedia option appeared and proxy changed to 0.0.0.0)

back to stock one click for note -II :- https://www.dropbox.com/s/gipuuwgupksladu/SPH-L900_LJC_Stock_Restore.exe

Tar to be used in odin-PDA := http://d-h.st/NAM

Above both links are for Full L900VPALJ1, this will bring your phone back to 4.1

But wont overwrite knox bootloader in 4.3 ,

for tar use below method

ViperBoy from XDA

  1. Download the stock tar - (mirror link) MD5SUM: d42d84446d5ce832999ebb92f21f56b0
  2. Download Odin - (mirror link)
  3. Download the Drivers - (mirror link)
  4. Install the drivers, reboot if prompted.
  5. Extract the .zip you downloaded from Step 1 and remember that location.
  6. Start Odin by right-clicking on it and choose "Run as Administrator"
  7. Go into download mode - power off the phone, then press and hold Vol Down + Home + Power. Press Vol Up when prompted with the warning about flashing custom software.
  8. Plug in the phone, make sure Odin recognizes it (first box should light up, indicating a device was found)
  9. Click the PDA button and chose the .md5 file you extracted earlier.
  10. Click Start

Would appreciate if you can link the app here, a Play Store search throws many hotspot apps.

EDIT:

Got wifi hotspot working on Note 2 by installing a De-odexed stock rom (with built in hotspot hack) from XDAdevs:

The 3G speeds seems to have improved post this upgrade

Also the irritating Activation Message can now be permanently removed from the Notification Bar

The device feels snappy and faster.

Have you tested WiFI, few people reported WiFi issue after updating to MK4.

@ALL

After taking MK4 OTA, (Only If your want) you wont be able to downgrade directly to lower versions,

you need to overwrite bootloader, which is not locked with knox,Like MC2/LJC/MA7 etc

to downgrade from MK4 to MC2 or LJC,

you need working custom recovery and a special scripted ROM ZIP files.

which can be found here :- http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2086769

Here are Mirrors for ZIP

MC2_STOCK

Stock MA7

Oldest Stock LJC DOWNLOADS

Also you cannot downgrade from MC2 to LJC directly , as you cannot overwirte bootloader of MC2 with LJC with normal Odin method.

For doing same above scripted ZIP can be used.

Wifi is working just fine. It also warns when the internet connection is erratic e.g. when some torrent is downloading at full speeds on your pc.

Zero issues so far. Better performance and feel.

Still showing error of Activation not completed.

Looking for hotspot , no hotspot in it.

It's a flash through recovery, jsut flash cwm 6.0.2.5 and wipe data factory reset, wipe cache, wipe dalvik cache and flsh this, then flash the wifi patch tar through odin (PDA SLOT) and you are good to go! Looks good for now, I miss the data toggle in note 2

So this update makes our Sprint Note II's compatible with Samsung Gear. I downloaded the Gear Manager from Samsung Apps (not Play Store) -

t8rr.png

So what's the feedback about the Samsung Gear WATCH? Anyone using it? And what is it's cost?

Here's my friend's watch -

Uff Vishal, that's not mine. I am still waiting for feedback from actual Rimweb user, if any, of Samsung Gear...
