Tutorial: Generating NV Dump file

Recommended Posts

Please note that above editing is for 1x only as I am not able to understand address 580 & 1192. If you put your MIN in these address you will get 1x but for EVDO I believe something else has to be entered. I have tried this method on 3-4 phones and was able to get 1x. (Tried on HTC EVO3D & Samsung Fascinate.)

Address 580 & 1192 are for HDR Authentication which means EVDO password.

the main reason we need nv dump is for hdr password which is different for different phones so even after decoding nv you will need hdr password which means contact your seller for that or the person who registers the meid.again for 1x this will work on htc and samsung phones but motorola and lg phones need mobile + simple ip so there nv has to be little different.<br />

^^^you are correct nik but if seller gives the HDR password once it will be same always... right??...so there wont be trouble for them again and again...

For Motorola Its really difficult I have gone through the post on mobile5.in...

HDR password is attached to MEID and it will change whenever user changes handset.

Hi amit great post, this is the first post I've liked in Rimweb.in, always wanted someone to post this info for the same reason you posted here, that is to get rid off the hassle for both buyers & seller everytime the buyer changes his/her number. There used to be a simple nv item file generator @ mobile5, but it was taken out. Glad that atlast someone sensed the necessity to have post like this. A win-win situation for both sellers & buyers.

Once again thanks for the detailed information

First Place Amit nice iniatieve

i dont have Data Working on my LG Spectrum

How do I go about creating this NV FILE for the same.

I cant be dependent on my seller (Abhishek Pujara)

I had CW and read the NV file and saved it.

It had some bad-patches reported ( what was the significance of it I don't know)

Can i make changes to the NV file saved and upload it.

simply writing the nv won't activate data on lg spectrum you can try the nv from lg marquee post which zeroes out some nvs which is required for data.Sent from my SPH-L710 using Tapatalk 2

Is NV file unique for a model or a particular handset?

If i don't have a NV dump with me, can i generate it with the help of handset?

Can evdo registration be activated without it?

i have been reading all threads. Just guide me where i can find the answers?

Yes you can surely take NV backup. It is always a good practice. Experienced guys should take EFS backups also as each android build of each device has different EFS partition size and useful during "baseband unknown" issues.
