Very interesting, but I am sure it cannot be placed directly in the sunlight

Maybe it gets charged with indirect light like desk calculators.

Yawn... for half charge and yawn... yawn... for full charge

Very interesting phone. Even if it doesn't charge completely, it will help in extending the talk time and standby time of the phone. I'm interested to know that if one uses this phone as any other phone (charging via electricity socket), what percent boost does the solar cell add to the battery life?

LG Launches The Optimus 4X HD in India For MRP Of Rs 34,990

Source

LG-Optimus-4X-HD1.jpg

LG has finally launched the Optimus 4X HD in India for Rs 34,990 which is its flagship smartphone for the year 2012. Previously, it was stated that LG will launch the device in June. The superphone was originally unveiled at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona in February alongside the HTC One X hit the Indian market back in May.

The Optimus 4X HD boasts an impressive feature set which includes a quad-core Nvidia Tegra 3 processor clocked at 1.5GHz, a 4.7-inch True HD IPS display with a resolution of 1280×720 pixels and a pixel density of 313 pixels per inch, a 8-megapixel camera which can also shoot 1080p videos, a large 2,150 mAh battery (larger than the Samsung Galaxy S III, which has a 2,100 mAh battery) and 16GB of internal storage. The device runs on Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich on top of which LG utilizes its new Optimus UI 3.0 which includes custom features like Quick Memo and Media Plex.

The LG Optimus 4X HD arrives in the country at a very interesting time as it now becomes the last of the quad-core behemoths to be launched in the country, two months after the HTC One X and almost a month-and-a-half after the Samsung Galaxy S III. Price-wise, however, the Optimus 4X HD competes very well with its Android competition, but with HTC and Samsung having the first movers advantage it remains to be seen how LG will market its flagship smartphone.

Key Specifications:

  • 1.5GHz Quad-core Nvidia Tegra 3 processor
  • 4.7-inch True HD IPS display with a 720p resolution
  • 8-megapixel camera with 1080p video
  • 2,150 mAh battery
  • 1GB of RAM
  • 16GB of internal memory
  • Android 4.0 with Optimus UI 3.0

Samsung told that ICS+TouchWiz is too much for Galaxy-S, so ICS was skipped... Now they are releasing still inferior (both by CPU & GPU) device with ICS + TouchWiz... Cheaters, they are thinking that we people are having short-term memory loss??

FYI:- GPU used in OG Galaxy S, Nexus S, Galaxy Nexus are same PowerVR SGX540 (may be OC a bit here and there)...
