^ ^ ^ 64GB of internal storage? Who then needs an SD card!

I am using GNexus-16GB... Initially I had fear reg the small and limited storage space... But still I got that since my main phone is RazrMAXX.. Further the space issue is more or less solved with root + StickMount app + USB_OTG_Cable + PenDrive.. Further the MediaDevice connectivity is almost better than USB_Mass_Storage_Mode (No need to SafelyRemove, No app stored in InternalSD stops, same_or_fast file transfer, etc)

BUT.... If you ask me to select a phone with 128GB internal memory + NO SD slot or a phone with 16GB internal memory + microSD slot, I will still prefer the one with externalSD slot... It makes the device to be available with ALMOST Unlimited storage space... With 10 x 64GB microSDXC cards, you have access to 640GB of storage.. Further you can have say one 16GB card for MP3 songs, 32GB cards for video songs, 64GB for something special (like important office documents, some HD movies and you need NOT worry about anyone seeing your collection)...

The family is growing: Nokia Lumia 620

Published by Ian Delaney on December 5, 2012

Source

Today we’re pleased to introduce the Nokia Lumia 620, our third and most affordable Windows Phone 8 smartphone.

Nokia_Lumia_620_03.jpg

Nokia Lumia 620

  • Networks: WCDMA 850/900/1900/2100
    GSM/EDGE 850/900/1800/1900
  • Display: 3.8” TFT WVGA 800×480, ClearBlack
  • Memory: 512MB RAM (8GB internal memory, Micro SD support up to 64GB)
  • Camera: 5Mpix autofocus, LED flash; Video capture: HD 720p@30fps; VGA front camera
  • Size & weight: 115.4 x 61.1 x 11.02 mm; 127g (including battery)
  • Connectivity: NFC, WLAN 802.11 a/b/g/n 2.4Ghz + 5Ghz, Bluetooth 3.0, GPS/A-GPS, Glonass, micro-USB, 3.5mm audio connector (AHJ + WP Controls)
  • Processor: 1 GHz Dual Core Snapdragon ™ S4
  • Battery Talk time: (GSM/WCDMA) Up to 14.6 h/ up to 9.9 h; Standby time: Up to 330 h

Alongside the flagship Nokia Lumia 920and midrange Nokia Lumia 820, the Nokia Lumia 620 adds more youthful appeal to our Windows Phone 8 range. Compact and fun, it takes advantage of a new ‘dual-shot’ technique to create a variety of interesting new colours and textures.

Dual Shot involves casting two layers of polycarbonate, a single base layer and a second colour, in a transparent or translucent layer, to produce depth effects and secondary colour blends. For example, yellow and cyan are combined to produce an exciting new lime green, our own favourite. What’s more, since the Nokia Lumia 620 uses exchangeable shells, you can change the colour as often as you change your mood with seven shells to choose from.

While this may be the most affordable of our three new Windows Phone 8 smartphones, it packs a punch. The 3.8-inch display has the same sunlight readability enhancements as the Nokia Lumia 920 and Nokia Lumia 820, so you should be able to see what’s on the screen however sunny your surroundings (not a problem for those of us in Finland right now).

It also takes advantage of the sameNokia exclusive camera lenses, like Cinemagraph and Smart Shoot, transforming the creative power of the 5-megapixel camera and front-facing VGA camera. Of course it also has the world’s best mapping and location experience, based on the Here platform, with Nokia Maps, Nokia Drive and Nokia City Lens all available.

Of course, with the emphasis on a younger audience, it also has Nokia Music, providing free streaming of ad-free tracks with no subscription or registration required and the ability to download playlists to listen offline. With NFC connectivity, you can easily pair the Nokia Lumia 620 with one of the greatspeakers from JBL, such as the JBL PlayUp Portable for Nokia, to set your music free. Or if you want to avoid upsetting everyone on the bus, try the Nokia Purity Pro Stereo Headset by Monster for professional audio sounds on the move.

Nokia_Lumia_620_02.jpg

Nokia_Lumia_620_01.jpg

Finally, this is Windows Phone 8, so the Nokia Lumia 620 comes with Live Tiles for updates direct to the Start Screen, PeopleHub for all your address books in one place and a Me Tile to make it easy to post and track notifications across social networks. With Xbox Live, Microsoft Office, 7GB of SkyDrive storage and faster, safer surfing with Internet Explorer 10, it’s hard to know what to do first. You might want to start with Angry Birds Star Wars or Words with Friends – just a suggestion.

Excluding any local taxes or operator subsidies, the Nokia Lumia 620will cost around $249 USD and will be available from Q1 2013.

Samsung unveiled the Samsung GALAXY Grand, an ideal smartphone for users with fast-paced mobile lifestyles who demand more from their phone.

Samsung-Unveiled-GALAXY-Grand_1.jpg

Samsung GALAXY Grand runs Android 4.1.2 (Jelly Bean), Google’s latest operating system. Its vivid 5.0’’ display provides an expansive viewing experience, presenting messaging, multimedia and Web content in brilliant color and clarity. Even with the large screen, the phone is still slim, ergonomic and comfortable to hold. You can also enjoy true multitasking running multiple apps simultaneously and without switching screens using Multi Window feature.

GALAXY Grand with an impressive 1.2 GHz Dual Core processor supports seamless multitasking, faster web browsing, lightning-fast screen transitions and superior graphics for some of the most demanding apps and games.

The GALAXY Grand sports a powerful camera with zero shutter-lag and ultra-quick camera start-up. It includes a backside illumination sensor to ensure clear shots even in dark conditions, as well as Full HD video recording.

Samsung GALAXY Grand also includes intuitive features that make the phone easy to use. For example, Direct Call enables

users to automatically dial a call by raising the device up to the ear; while users can also shake the phone to trigger status updates, or pan it to zoom into a screen. Smart Alert shows missed events such as missed calls and new messages just by picking up the phone. Popup Video, for example, lets users watch video in a pop-up window anywhere on the screen while running other tasks; S Voice lets you control the phone using your voice; and AllShare Play lets you share content across Samsung devices using a single account.

The phone is pre-loaded with the latest versions of Samsung Hubs to deliver the most popular games, movies and music direct to the user on demand.

Seems Samung is now bridging the gap between a phone & a Phablet. Having known Samsung's pricing policy it should be between S2 & Note around 25-26K which will eventually stabilize at 22k in few months by then S2 will die its own death....

It would be great if Samsung moving away from traditional plastic backs on its phone to more solid HTC types which are easy to handle and even more importantly dont slip from your hands

samsung-unveiled-galaxy-grand_1-10001808

Samsung has announced a new Android smartphone, the Galaxy Grand, that is a mashup between two of its popular devices: the Galaxy S III and the Galaxy Note II. The handset will come with dual-SIM support, too, but its not the best of both worlds.

On the outside, the Galaxy Grand looks a lot like the S III. It runs on the latest Android version, 4.1.2 Jelly Bean, with a dual-core 1.2GHz processor and 1GB of RAM. The back camera is 8 megapixels and can record full HD video, while the front camera is 2 megapixels.

Theres 8GB of built-in storage and a MicroSD expansion slot (for up to 64GB cards), along with the usual trimmings of Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, GPS and sensors such as an accelerometer, compass, and gyroscopic sensor. The phone will connect to fast HSPA+ networks, but no 4G LTE version has been announced.

samsung-galaxy-grand-100018086-large.jpgWhat holds back the Galaxy Grand is its screen. The display is 5 inches, which places it between the S IIIs 4.8-inch screen and the 5.5-inch display on the Note II. However, at a resolution of 800 by 480 pixels, the display of the Galaxy Grand is inferior to both the S III and Note II, which sport 1280 by 720 pixel screens, with a higher pixel density.

Samsung did not say when or for how much the Galaxy Grand will retail. Judging by the mediocre display and upper average specs, the Galaxy Grand will probably be a mid-range device for those who want an Android phone with a big display (also nicknamed phablets), but without the premium price tag.

The Galaxy Grand could be an attractive offer for globetrotters though. The first version of the phone will come in a dual-SIM version, which allows you to use two phone numbers from the same phone. You can receive calls on one SIM while taking a call from the other, so you can always have a foreign SIM card for cheap calls along with your normal number. A second version of the Grand will then follow, which will feature only one SIM card slot.
