Android 4.4 KitKat

Recommended Posts

Android next version will be called KitKat instead of Key Lime Pie.

Well this is quite a shocker. I just got back from grabbing some breakfast, and Sundar Pichai goes ahead and posts that image you see above, which was taken from Google HQ in Mountain View. We all thought that Android 5.0 is the next Android version, and we all THOUGHT we knew that the next name on the list of desserts was Key Lime Pie. Guess we all need to break off a piece of what is coming next.Screen Shot 2013-09-03 at 9.44.09 AM So if you check out the Android page in the link below, you will see that Kit Kat is indeed Android 4.4. They have teamed up with Kit Kat to give away free Nexus 7s, or Google PLay Store credits. Head over to the link below and see if you have won. Let us know what you guys think about this.Screen-Shot-2013-09-03-at-9.41.16-AM.png

^^^^^^

When Andy Rubin was replaced by our TN guy Sundar Pichai, I had some doubts initially... But hey, he is a Genius (not just by this move, but also play services separation and few other tricks)... Great marketing idea....

Got one more news reg M$ buying Nokia for DAMN CHEAP...

In 2007 Nokia bought Navteq for 8.1 billion $

In 2013 M$ bought Nokia for 7.16 billion $

This reminds one incident happened in a village called Amathur near our town 15 years back... In Amathur, there was one small theater (some call it as turing talkies or something like that) and once the FILM-BOX got stolen there. Then the owner of the theater paid the amount for FILM-BOX by selling his theater...

Android KitKat

Google has just announced that the next version of Android will be called KitKat and not Key Lime Pie, as rumoured earlier. Also, the next Android version number is 4.4 not 5.0, indicating that KitKat is not going to be a huge jump but a smaller upgrade.

The search giant has also placed the KitKat Android version statue along with previous versions in the Mountain View. Android boss Sundar Pichai posted a photo of the same on his Twitter account today.

In this tweet and on his Google+ account, Pichai revealed that Android has now crossed 1 billion device activations. This is up from 900 million activations figure shared at Google I/O 2013 earlier this year.

“… All this Android innovation is driving tremendous ecosystem momentum and I’m excited to share that together we’ve now passed 1 Billion Android device activations. Huge thanks to the entire Android community from the hardware manufacturers, chip makers and carriers to the developers and content creators to all of you – our Android users around the world – for making this possible,” Sundar wrote on Google+.

I am pretty sure its the favourite childhood candy bar of Mr Sundar Pichai.. KIT-KAT... lol

Anyways I like it better than Key-lime-pie. But I am wondering why still 4.4 and not 5.0

^ yes. It's rumoured to be an LG model and has just cleared FCC - see here and here

5 inch screen, but overall size smaller than Nexus 4. Camera sensor seems really big in the video/pic.
