MTS Network Quality & Prepaid Smartphone SIM

Recommended Posts

How is the MTS network in Delhi/CR region mainly wrt data usage.

Also, does the default SM provided by MTS for a new prepaid connection is OMH that can be used in any smartphone and recharged with smartphone vouchers? or there is a still a concept of 'smartphone SIM' that is talked about on internet that must be taken if one wish to use the SIM with smartphone and recharge with smartphone vouchers.

If someone has taken a new MTS connection in Delhi cricle recently in past 6 months or so, please help.

I have been using MTS for past 4years.

It has best network in terms of signal strength in Delhi among all CDMA operators.

i am also using mts since aug..... (karnataka circle )

excellent signal strenth.... best plans....

they have omh and smartpone sim.... ( i have both sim... smartphone sim is also omh sim but evdo activated )

i think they dont activate evdo on omh sim.... you have to buy either smartphone sim ( i paid 500Rs ) or you have to convert your existing omh sim to smartphone sim ( 350Rs )

now i am looking for good android phone to use internet also....

Rs. 500 just for SIM (conneciton) or with any FRC/initial benefits?

OMH/Smartphone SIM should not cost more than Rs. 25. If MTS is taking Rs. 350 (for existing) or Rs. 500 (for new conneciton) jut for OMH EVDO activated smartphone SIM then it is a plain loot.

i got following benifit....

1.1000min free calls per month for 2 month

2. 1GB at evdo and then at 1x unlimited per month for 2 month

3.mts to mts free

same as 349 Rs recharge .... so i saved 200Rs ( 349Rs*2)

i am getting around 150kbps after 1gb ( that too unlimited )

cdma is better than gsm for voice clarity, signal strenth...

this plan is listed for Rs. 599 on website for karnataka circle. You got it for Rs. 500. That's a good discounted price.

Got a MTS prepaid connection. Very very poor coverage in NCR. Signals are weak and too fluctuating. EVDO signals are missing at most places. No signals inside house. Not even 1x. Wasted money :(

In my opinion stay away fro MTS in NCR.

Any idea about how is the network quality and coverage of MTS in Chennai, especially around Sholinganallur SEZ (Special Economic Zone) region. What about the EVDO/1x in this region ? All GSM have poor signal strength/coverage here. I want to switch to CDMA.
