DLNA enabled devices

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I have 4 external hard disks which I use to store media and play media through bluray player. The issue is I have to move harddisk between PC (to copy the downloaded media) and bluray player (to play the files).

The bluray player is DLNA enabled (SimplyShare to connect & stream all entertainment wirelessly)

Is there any device using which I can connect all HD to one device and can copy the media from PC wireless and play the files on bluray player. The device should support streaming HD content (huge files) without lag. I am basically tired of pluggin-unplugging and moving the harddisks.

Many thanks for any inputs.

Is this the kind of device which will do the trick?

Hey you can buy Wireless Access Point / Router with DLNA feature...where these routers also support FTP mode from which you can transfer files wirelessly....

Also suggest if you are buying AP...but N600 range of AP which supports 2.4 ghz and 5 Ghz also...otherwise transferring or streaming HD movies will ****...

Let me know if you need more details..

I have used - Netgear WNDR3700 N600 Dual Band Wireless Gigabit Router ....This is basically dual band AP which supports 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz channels at the same time.

you have to connect on 5Ghz channel to have good throughput...i have tested on my LED TV streaming HD video ..it works...only condition is AP should be near to TV as ....TV should get good range of AP...so it will not LAG in HD Video.....

Let me know further help required.

Sorry for the late reponse.

Many thanks for your inputs. Recently I came to know that broadband connection will be available in my society and they said that I can buy my own ADSL2 modem for that.

I have shortlisted the following 2 models to serve the purpose

1. ADSL2 modem

2. Wifi hub

3. For DLNA streaming

A bit unsure about the above mentioned products as they have mixed feedback any suggestions.
