US Cellular Moto X With Tata Docomo SIM - Calls are working but no data (Working Now)

Recommended Posts

Hi guys,

I am a new guy to the world of CDMA. I got a Moto x Us cellular from USA few days back. Someone had told me that we will be able to use the indian cdma on it as its already CDMA unlocked. Well i got a new sim and cut it to nano sim. I am getting signal but it shows US Cellular as the network provider also i was just able to activate the sim by calling 59059, but the problem is still its showing as US cellular. I am able to make calls but not getting any data. i was told by the rep in Tata showroom that there is no internet for CDMA. am i missing something ??Kindly assist.

1) It will show as US cellular as phone was made for them .its just an name which can be changed by programing

2) there is internet for TATA cdma, you just need to do few tweaks

Yeah now i am able to use the data too, people working in the tata docomo showroom are crazy i guess. I recharged for 48 and now i am able to get data. 1mbps avg in speed test, far better than cdma.

Also i want tried to change the Operator name in Build.prop but still shows USC, its a bit annoying but i can live with that. Is there any specific edit in Build.prop to get the phone to show Tata.?? thanks

I'd like to know this as well? Would a Sprint Moto X work with Reliance RUIM out of the box?

No AFAIK sprint x can't be used out of the box. Had a friend who tried it and it did not work for him. Think you need to program it.

@KD

me and my dad have been on cdma since forever. gsm is only needed for him for his europe travels.

so even though it has gsm support thats not something to be overjoyed about at the moment. :doh:

this i bought for him and right now its very inconvinent for him without his push data. his work relies on it. :nerves:
