Hitesh ji, I am unable to flash recovery. Following error comes:

1. On command prompt:

sending 'recovery' (9954 KB)...

OKAY [ 0.344s]

writing 'recovery'...

OKAY [ 0.625s]

finished. total time: 0.969s

2. But on mobile screen

Mismatched partition size(recovery)

Please guide

That's normal .

Motorola wants to tell u that u won't get any warranty now and also you are at your own risk !

Even without bootloader unlocked we are in same situation .

Ignore it !

After flashing the recovery (cwm)... when i try to boot into recovery (from fastboot)... Its shows an open android bot with a triangle saying no command.

Not sure what that means. Maybe there is nothing in the recovery partition at the moment. :nerves:

Suggestions anyone?

EDIT : Now working. Flashed the recovery partition again. This time twrp. :) And now rooted.

Use TWRP 2.6.3.2, it is tested and working perfectly.

Also check you have sufficient free space in phone to store backup.

I have downloaded TWRP 2.6.3.2 Bt wen I install that and boot to recovery it displays TWRP 2.6.3.0 at top.

Bt still no luck.

I'm able to take backup of everything except 'data'.

And have sufficient space to store the backup....

Tried step 1 and did not work after putting the string on the Motorola website got a message that you do not qualify for boot loader to be unlocked, which is surprising, did anyone face such issue. I am trying it on a Boost Moto G upgraded to KitKat 4.2

Tried again, no go, same message.your device does not qualify for bootloader unlocking. Have posted the issue on Motorola support forum also, as many other folks having the same issue.

@ hitesh : sent you message with the fast boot details. Also once you get the details for Happy please share.

I have already set the SPC to zeros. Next was to unlock the bootloader and root the phone.

I am really excited after seeing many posts saying that Moto G has better signal strength that other CDMA devices and many users saying they can see the improved signal quality.

Thanks Hitesh, it worked just tried the code. On reboot i got the message warning bootloader unlocked.

Now will root the phone.

Also i had posted on Motorola support forums, the mod there asked for the string and some other data. He tried the string and said that it should work.

After that when i tried on the motorola site the string worked and it said they would email me the code.

So motorola support guys are aware of this issue as many people have posted there and the mods have fixed the unlock tool and updated it from the back end after receiving non working strings from users. Good to see this kind of support.

Once again Thanks to Hitesh for helping out.

I am trying to unlock the device but the same is not getting listed in ADB devices.

Also after update to 4.4 start up used to show a black colour icon but now it is showing a blue colour icon.

Phone is also not reflected as USB device in windows not sure which step i am missing.

Any light not the above?

While unlock u have to use fastboot

Not adb.

Also turn off diag to connect phone as media device
