Frequent Disconnection

guys i have FWT with a patch panel antenna.i use win xp sp2,i also have the latest drivers for my FWT. i have this problem of frequent disconnection, after about every hour or so my connection disconnects (i.e drops),on the Rconnect dialer every thing (i.e duration and data graph) just freezes and in the modem properties it shows modem removed (error 797). will this pingapp by deepu solve my problem?

Nikhil, no guarantees. It may work or it may not. It doesn't for me; I have the same problem.

guys check the cable.. is it tight.. and if u can change the direction of patchpanel antenna.. might solve ur probs

eskay, are u using the same o/s (i.e win xp sp2), have u tried any other o/s like win 98/2000 etc. some people tell me there might be problem with the o/s.

what do u think kams19.

I'm on Win 2K. Problem remains. FWT moved around. Cable is genuine. Nothing works.

Assuming that you know how to generate modem log for your modem,

can you post the modem log here.

By the way for me RConnect works very well with speeds always up above 80kbps on Fedora core 3. Refer to my post on how to configure it on Fedora core 3. You will never have this problem. I use LG LSP 340E. I had similar problem on windows and I used to run Konst pinger to keep the connection allive. Its not at all required on linux. Also you get faster speeds on linux.
