CDMA Data on Indian iPad - can work!

Recommended Posts

I have been looking for this since a long time. A top notch tablet with cdma data service. Despite of lot of complaints on different topics on our forums I still am a cdma fan.

Now what better option then to get your ipad running cdma data. From my previous experience I know getting cdma service on iphone is a bit complicated but it works. sometimes has issues related to ios update. DFS credit is too expensive for a comman man unless considering huge proffesional usage.

I often asked few rim gurus and top sellers here if there is any possiblity but nobody seems to have tried. on some threads the idea was outrightly rejected. Today I have had a huge surprise and thats why I am so excited to share it with you all. I am sure now different possibilities can be explored to get it working right.

I had this verizon and just for kicks I pushed that verizon nano sim in my ipad air (1st gen) official indian product (not usa version).

here is the result for everyone

Babaji, try a RG series Reliance sim card after activating iPad by a Verizon sim card. It will be detected and you'll get data icon, but no data transfer actually takes place in my case. I mean I get the data icon but page doesn't loads.

Why would I need to activate my "Indian iPad" which is already working with regular gsm sims, through a Verizon one? I don't have rge series only recruc06. If you or anybody can send me a spare nano then I can try.

because of my experience with verizon iPhones. If you activate them with a GSM sim and then put Reliance CDMA, they don't catch a signal. But If you activate them with a verizon or any other CDMA Sim they catch signal with Reliance CDMA sim card.

I agree with you but that's specifically applicable to verizon devices. Not to an official Indian iphone. That's the point you are overlooking that I don't have a verizon ipad. In fact it's not required to activate it to any carrier to use. Not the same with USA phones.
