Need Suggestion for purchasing CDMA Handset

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I want to purchase a CDMA based smart phone. I was hoping to get some help using my iphone 6 (A1586) on a CDMA network in India. But it seems nobody has cracked that as yet.

Meanwhile, I want to purchase an LG Tribute or Moto E from Ebay GEB. But not sure which model will work out of the box. So any link will be helpful.

I understand that Moto E Verizon works out of the box but what about Boost model.

Also, are there other alternatives to Moto E / LG Tribute. I dont want to spend more than 6K.

Any link to handsets that work with Tata/BSNL/RCom CDMA is welcome. Please folks - help me out.

Although little bit out of range but moto droid mini CDMA will be a good alternative.

LG G3 (US cellular) both works out of box for any CDMA. No need do any thing. (GSM will not work on this Phone). Bigger screen, more ram and fast processor, and decent cam with NFC and IR. Though it is pricy but worth. If you upgrade to lollypop you will get even guest mode profile also.

Any idea why BSNL RUIMs dont work ? Is it that their RUIM tech is old .

Same also goes for Datacards , after ZTE AC2766 there has been no working datacards . Huawei 306 and WINGLE EC315 also don't work in BSNL EVDO

Realy wanted to use BSNL CDMA but ...

Thank you for the suggestions above. So you thing GEB is the best and safe bet? Are there any alternate ways of getting these CDMA handsets ( apart from getting it through someone in person from USA)?

BSNL evdo

Bsnl cdma. I got this info from one un know person. I want to share here.

If you have taken a 40rs RUIM, you need to disable MEID authentication to even detect the sim

if you have taken a 350rs proper evdo plan, it will connect to CDMA 1x, once you disable MEID authentication, it will give evdo access for sure

to disable MEID authentication, you just need to call / email to an SDE in CDMA

Let everybody know if it works

How did you get it for that price? Can you please post the GEB link and the details of any coupons you might have used.

The actual price was 5497. I had a 30% off coupon from SBI card. ( Max discount of 1000). Plus I used pay back points that I had earned using my ICICI. The exact price I paid is INR 2901. But for others - it may be 4500 which is again not bad. That listing ended. Today I am seeing yet another great listing.

The SBI eBay page shows the offer but not the coupon. Can you share your coupon or was it single use only?
