Reliance CDMA Shutting down

Recommended Posts

Y is rcom 4g so hyped.

Is it because Rcom will let cdma users to use 4g at same rate that of cdma??

Or is it because company has nothing in place

Today I received this message: "Dear Customer,we are upgrading to 4G. You may face intermittent network issues. We regret the inconvenience and seek support during this process. Thx RCOM".

Looks like 4g will be activated soon, and yes cdma will continue for some time. If it was to be closed with 4g launch we all would have received communication in that regard to upgrade or port else your services will be discontinued.

They are migrating all customers to 4g GSM This process doesn't req porting

since u are not moving out of Rcom

After migration process

Customer will make calls on Rgsm 2g netowrk

Data on 2g,3g and Jio4g 1800 and 2300 MHz

Once cdma is closed 850mhz will come in

What if I don't opt for 4g upgrade? Will my services just stop without any intimation after 4g launch?

So you mean from May 10(as informed by customer care to me today)..

Voice calls on RGSM

2G/3G Data on Reliance 2G and Reliance 3G

4G data on Jio's Loop 4G network... Till they decide to stop CDMA and use 800/850 band for their own Reliance 4G?

Damn, I shouldn't have registered for 4G SIM :(

This is the reason i have kept my personal number away from upgrade to 4g

Rather went for an extra only data cdma number for 4g upgrade

First i want to have a feel of the rcom 4g with this extra number then will decide to go for rcom 4g with my original number

But the big thing is that 4g is not starting :(

I was also of this thought, but made mistake yesterday. Upgraded to 4G SIM and lost my lifetime plan. It's now 2p/s and on RGSM. And I see a possibility of RCDMA continuing in Delhi. Why Reliance made a mess f situation.. just why. Do hell with them. Enough of Reliance. not even Jio. <annoyed>

What lifetime plan are you using

Visit following link to get your Prepaid netconnect balance: http://myservices.relianceada.com/loadAccountDetailsAction.do

I have Pro3 connection.

See the below screenshot.

I am looking at the expiry date (24-05-2016). Does it mean that is the date of activation of 4G.

Rcom is closing CDMA in the name of Upgrading to 4G

After 25th may CDMA will be 2g for call and data will be 850/1800/2300

But rcom main band in India 850mhz band 5 and call will be 2g

Let me clear the confusion.
1. I am a Prepaid user of Pro3 CDMA with lifetime 3001 plan which gives me 1 gb per month for life.
2. Same benefits will be available for me after upgradation to 4g.
3. 5GB data shown is a promo balance as I did Rs.93 migration recharge and validity is 24th May 2016.
4. It means I have to consume the 5GB promo balance before 24th may, but still my 4G sim is not activated.
5. Anyone wants to check the data balance just visit the above link of Reliance myaccount.

What a pity reliance not coming up with any official information when cdma is going to be closed

I doubt that situation might be of like what happened in some states where the cdma closed overnight and people lost their numbers

Rcom should make some official announcement regarding the same

I think trai should take action on this

Any1 please send email to trai

Message is definitely from MTNL DELHI. MTNL DELHI still has CDMA phone, besides the fact that MD in MD-359158 stands for MTNL Delhi. And they have their postpaid plans starting from Rs. 149/-

Rs. 149 plan has free calls worth Rs. 149/- to MTNL, besides that all locals at 1/2paise per second, all std at 1p/s. SMS charges at 10p. Their data pack is as well very economical at 75/- unlimited, with the hitch that it is at 1x

If we check the the upgrade recharge details on this page:

http://www.rcom.co.in/Rcom/personal/4G/4G_overview.html

it says Post Migration LTE/4G Benefit: Data 1X/EV 1 gb and 4g: 10gb.

What does Data 1X/EV means? 4G on CDMA? Otherwise they should have mentioned 2G/3G here.

4g: 10gb : After 4G SIM becomes operational

CDMA network has gone from bad to worse. And I think a lot of people might have ported out, had they not announced 4G. Infact it created a reverse emotion of finding spare CDMA sim as well to latch on to 4G. And these idiots made the best of it by not announcing the final date, and grapevine putting up one date after another. Now it is 31st May
