Reliance CDMA Shutting down

Recommended Posts

JUST got porting code after converting to GSM

You might get success in porting to other network but here in Gujarat prepaid customers getting errors from 1901 and postpaid users getting codes but later rejected by Reliance. Now all have to stick around for 90 days.

I got my UPC(while being in CDMA, and did not upgrade to 4G) on 27/05/16 and submitted papers to Vodafone for porting on 31/05/16. Still waiting for shift over to vodafone. When contacted Vodafone care, they told release of my number from Reliance is awaited. I have already paid one month advance bill to RCDMA. Shall I still need to visit Reliance gallery? pls guide

Prepaid users upgraded to 4G GSM sim are not getting port codes and postpaid customers get port codes but are getting rejected by Reliance citing 90 day INP binding. Those who want to port elsewhere should not upgrade to 4G sim.

As I heard Rcom won't allow porting to those just migrated to 4G/GSM. You have to wait for 90days and then only you can jump to other operator.

CDMA was good so far, but moving to GSM / 4G LTE has its own advantages

  • Latest technology
  • Availability of good gsm handsets
  • Swap of sim possible with other gsm handsets
  • Faster data transfer speed compared to RevB possible
  • Compatible with International networks

True but CDMA was always a more efficient network. Wonder how Band 5 (850 Mhz) will perform though.

Getting automated voice calls and SMSs to upgrade to 4G by visiting nearest store and get the new 4G sim.

Same situation in Ahmedabad also. No network in all the cdma handsets.

A web world guy told me that there was a blackout for Cdma today between 4PM to 7PM.

True the network is more efficient than Gsm...GSM operators wanted the CDMA network to be dead...they got what they want

I upgraded my CDMA dongle to 4G and have been trying to order the 4G WiPod at the discounted price but I keep getting errors and timeouts. Most of the time, the page doesn't even load. Total lack of planning by Rcom.

Unfortunately, it seems that way.

Just take a look at this discriminatory pricing for dongles (based on Gold, Silver, Bronze users):

http://rtn.asia/t-t/19845/rcom-classify-dongle-users-three-classes-4g-upgradation-charge

The class system is alive and well, even in telecom!

Airtel is still decently reliable in my opinion. Though the network is slightly weak in Vizag, even though it isn't that bad..
