Smartphones that will work on Reliance 4G

Recommended Posts

Some of the handsets that have LTE Band 5 (850 mhz) as well as Band 40 (2300 mhz) are

Samsung Galaxy J7

Samsung Galaxy J5

Samsung Galaxy Note 4 (N910G)

Lenovo Vibe K4 Note

Oppo F1

Honor 5x

iPhone 5s

iPhone 6

iPhone 6 plus

iPhone SE

Samsung Galaxy S6

These handsets also have Band 3 (1800 mhz) used by other service providers in India.

How many of these support VoLTE?

Above mentioned Samsung phones, Oppo F1, iPhone 6 onwards support VoLTE. In addition, Lyf phones are there of course.

Setting in droid maxx shows that there is CDMA LTE & gsm LTE .

Let me clarify. There is no CDMA and GSM LTE. LTE/4g is the culmination of both CDMA 2000/1x/EVDO and GSM/EDGE/GPRS/UMTS/HSDPA. What you are seeing in options is whether the fallback for LTE will be on CDMA or GSM. If you want a phone to work in India fully on 4g, buy one that supports bands 5, 40 and also VOLTE

is my redmi 2 4g handset will work after upgrade from CDMA to 4g. Reply plz

Yes when they give you a 4G SIM it will work

As Jio has interconnect in place with Airtel, RCOM (this is news from more than a year back so probably more operators by now) so there should not be any worries about GSM/3G/2G wherever VOLTE is unavailable. If the handset does not support VOLTE there is jio join app which will allow calls/text over GSM also

if i assume Fallback for LTE on CDMA, then they will not shut down cdma service. If fallback for LTE on GSM then all cdma customers need to port to RGSM.

Both cases are unlikely.

If J5 supports VoLTE, between J5 and RN3 (16 GB), which one would be better? I know that J5 has only 1.5 GB RAM as against 2 GB of RN3 but the MIUI is expected to eat up more RAM.

Go for RN3

Best performance and battery backup.

I think at this Redmi Note 3 or Mi5 comes as the saviour as both supports cdma, gsm and Lte (800/1800/2300).

FYI from yesterday calling from r-Cdma often gets lost, but evdo rev a data working fine.

Rcom paytm tie up for 4g upgrade.
6 mobile are shown on offer page, means these phones essentially work on Rcom 4G.
Asus zenfone Maxx
Samsung j2
Lenovo a6000
Samsung j7
Yu yuphoria
Gionee f103

Only for existing reliance user and 4G sim also be delivered.

it seems that none of these handsets support VoLTE and none is CDMA, means we will be automatically shifted to RGSM network, Which is least prefered network even behind BSNL.

In the handsets offered by paytm, Band 3 and Band 40 are common. so we can assume that whatever handset has both band 3 & 40 for LTE will work with RCOM 4G.

In GSM mode, 4G should work in all sprint 4G models

for sprint phones we have only settings as cdma , cdma/lte , gsm/umts, automatic

4G will not work on GSM it will take 3 G

some one will have to find out a solution so that sprint phone will latch on lte mode of R com 4G
