Can you please confirm the network type it's connecting to? Is it 2g/3g or impossibly 4g?

Is data working if you put this SIM in another handset?

If not, get the SIM 'patched' at the store.

Similar problem. Using Rcom 4g sim on Sprint Note 3.

Calls/sms working fine but no data

Internet works when I use the sim on Indian S3

Tried using the same APN settings on note 3, still no help. Any suggestions?

walk into any Reliance webstore, ask for upload of patch. They will update the SIM firmware.

Well, not sure if there is some compatibility issue with the sim.

Have you tried the 'patch'?

It will need minimum 8000 mAh battery and a dedicated heat-sink

Phone hardware is developed according to needs. Can you imagine a scenario where you would be using 2 LTE data connections simultaneously or 2 volte calls concurrently?

Battery/heat requirements are based on lot of factors ( eg frequency, tower density ).

It is incorrect to simply say that phones would need 8000 mah/ heat sink to support this.

If we look at the connectivity specification of Lyf smartphones - all of them support LTE-FDD Band 3(1800) and LTE-TDD Band 40(2300).  Majority of them, but not all, support Band 5(850) too.  Apparently, any phone that supports all three frequencies should work on Reliance 4G / Jio.  Happy to be corrected if I missed anything though.

I guess I will settle with 5 inched Oppo F1 because it supports all three bands, has good technical specifications with seemingly good camera power.

Here are a couple of links that could help you understand and explore the technical capabilities of LTE bands:

This whole thread is full of this answer and the post just above yours also details the same nicely. What exactly do you want, you will have to move your eyes a little bit to get the info you seek.
