Rd2030 Modem Driver

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I am a recent entry to the forum. I am using This Ph since past two years.

Now, i am trying touse it for internet also. I bought a cable from grey market and the sticker says "LG Data Kit DK-15G". The guy toldme that drivers will be available on internet. The cabe connects to ph and serial i/f to comp. I searched internet and come to know abt this Forum. I went thru most of the topic related to RD2030 and usb data cables. I downloaded the driver software from reliance site for serial port.

R Connect> RIM Data Cable> downloads

WinXP LG RD2030 serial "rconnect_lg_rd_2030_com.zip"

http://www.relianceinfo.com/webapp/Infocom...nnectsearch.jsp

When i am trying to install it is saying not able to detect phone.

Am i using the correct cable?? what could be the problem??

Please help

Regards

LG Data Kit DK-15G seems to be incompatible. Get a cable that is marked for LG RD2030 and get that for your Serial port preferably.

First Restart ur mobile and try again to install the drivers.

Second check whether the LOCK CODE of ur mobile is set to always on? If yes then change it.

Third don't connect the cable to the phone, until the setup wizard ask to connect.

And don't forget to post the results...

or best option ... select COM port emulation as COM-1 (if windows 2000 + ) and then try to send AT+GMM thro hyperterminal. If it returns the model number ... then the cable is fine..

PS : u can also try using bitpim to see if it reads the file system. restarting the mob. at times helps. so does removing lock code.

AT+CDV 00000000 should dial a call to 00000000 if the mob is working perfect.

Hi All,

Yesterday I installed LG_Desktop downloaded from LGMOBILES.COM.

It was also not able to sync with mobile saying mobile not connected.

Also while doing these detection activities I don't find any activity in the

mobile. Today i will try getting a new cable and try again....

thanx & regards,

I've experienced many a time and most of them was due to the fault in Cable/Connector. Check for hardware related issues before you move on.

I think forget the installerss... Just set up a 56k modem config on COM1 and it should work without a sweat..

LG handsets use emulated com port irrespective of a serial/USB cable while SAMSUNG handsets directly use the USB mode.. That is the reason samsung handsets can give great bandwidths..

newer lg handsets are also headed in this direction as well.

True... as DV pointed out ! I do accept that part... but hey .. what do u expect to do when the cable itself is not meant for the phone?

Cheers
