Broadband is the type of service we are getting.

Internet having speeds above 256kbps are generally termed as Broadband.

Broadnet is the name Reliance has given for its broadband service :help:

i'm talking about the official name printed on the bill

(not a service desciption...)

when u call cust care it says 'band' and so does the bill.

my netway is the same [band] so maybe 'net' is circle specific which is retarded (as usual!)

Look like with the introduction of Reliance BroadNet, the earlier Reliance BroadBand internet service has gone....Could be the chnage of name only, but a big change in the tariff plans....I was expecting and waiting for the 10 GB cap 512K connection, but now the things are different....No high speed (>300Kbps) option available in unlimited plans, and the data cap plan is upto 1GB only......

What I do not understand is that they are providing the same sevice on two different technologies (this is what I could derive from their FAQs)...one over CAT 5 cable and other is ADSL....But then good thing is you do not need to pay any security or rental for Modem even if the connection is over ADSL.

Anyway, lets hope the end product is good enough...with lesser glitches and faster speeds...

BTW, do any of you gusy know about its availablity in Delhi?

Cheers!

Looking at this plan I still feel it is not the best tarrif plan available in terms of cost. Still if you look at unlimited usage plan (Rs 2000) it is bit expensive. People who are only night browsers may enjoy some of the above mentioned plans. I am not sure about the speed. Airtel offers unlimited plan for Rs 1000 (256 Kbps connections).

ya.. they r using metro ethernet and dsl, but at the end of the day there is a cat5 wire going to the lan card either through a modem incase of dsl or w/o one incase of metro ethernet.

why complain

they r offering even 300 Kbps and even GBs just be ready to pay.

night surfing plan at Rs 300/- a month with 100Kbps will suit to max pockets.

when they had their old plans, they had a footnote saying that trai defines speeds upward of 256 as broadband. They should still have it.
