But why r d latest nokia phones only striked out with "New" & also nokia 3125 is also till now.Lg phones launched r not new.By this what we assume either nokia monopoly or strong tie ups between two or reliance infocom's webmaster's Lazyness. :(

I am a staunch believer of cell phone user reviews, and therefore i must let you all know, that internationally, the nokia 3155 has been given hardly a 2.5 score on a rating scale of 5. All flips should not flip one's mind;)

Looks similar to the 6255. Minus the BT, MMC and all! A poor man's flip I guess. How much does it cost?

How is the build quality??

Neither impressive features nor value for money is being offered. Better sets are available with GSM for the same price. Nokia never mentions whether FM is Stereo or Mono.

Perhaps the first phone in CDMA from Nokia which is available with RIM and offers colour depth of above 12bit.

FM is usually stereo. I dont think you get too many mono FM players. THe reason that you see the mono option there is to be "backward compatible" more than anything else.

As for build quality -- its a Nokia dude! I'm yet to see someone complain about Nokia build quality!!!! You might complain about functionality and features. But never quality!

And the Samsung SCH-A603 had a 262k colour display. As did the LG EVDO phone 7130 or 7230 or something!

Has anyone actually used this Nokia 3155 yet? I have to take a decision between the 3155 and the 6585 within the next two days. The best rates I could find are 7850 and 5800 respectively.

I need to buy it for someone who's main criterion in a new phone is the presense of FM radio. The 6585 is the safest bet, but I have a thing for flip phones. Unfortunately, she doesn't like external antennae so the balance is tilted a bit in favor of the 6585.

Not used but 3155 definately better than 6585 Since u dislike external antennae, flip phones U hav no option left to go for 6585.resolution wise 3155 is better.Rates r approximately common all over india :)

hi all, here's my review of this phone(this is my first review so plz

bear it).

i have had this phone for now 7 days and my experience till date is

very good though the price is just a little higher(i bought it for Rs.

7800). it should be around 6K.

This Phone comes with 12mb dynamic memory, i.e shared between contacts

msgs and gallery

Exteriors:-

Exterior is same like the Nokia 6101 GSM Phone.External LCD shows

banner, time, date Battery n signal strength in standby mode.

it shows caller id during the call

Upon opening fold it shows only Nokia Logo.

has a led near the antennae.Blinks green when a call comes. can be disabled through settings.

volume and voice/shutter key available in left side of keypad.

Volume key can be used for silencing ringtone when a call comes

Voice/shutter key can be used to answer a call when the fold is not

opened.U press this button and then can speak through speakerphone and

can listen through the loudspeaker.Usefull feature if dont want to open

the fold every time a call comes.

Interior:-

The Internal display size is 128 x 160 with 262k colors. which i think

is better even compared to other GSM Nokia phones.

Menus:-

Messaging

The phone supports text, voice as well as multimedia messaging. Text

message section has the usual Nokia features like create message,

inbox, sent messages folder, archives, outbox, templates and

distribution list.

Distribution list is a send to group like feature where you can make

and save a distribution list and later use it to send messages to

multiple recipients.

Sending messages is easy.

U can preset settings for sms in msg. settings for every sms u sent.

Some of the settings available r delivery reports, signature, priorty

etc.

One of the first thing i noticed in this phone is dat delivery report

comes as a msg and gets stored in the Inbox(this is a first for me as i

used LG RD2030 and Nk3125 and this feature was not present in them).

U can send MMS upto 3000 chars or upto 299kb only to other RIM phones.

it's easy but u cant recieve MMS from RWorld as the facility is not yet

available.

U can listen to voice messages by just clicking on "Listen to Voice

Messages". Voice mailbox no is prestored in the phone.

Calling and Call register:-

Making calls is simple. Either dial a number or find a contact from the

phonebook. Also there is the option of speed dial.Voice tags and voice

dialing is also present

Call register is more or less the same as for all Nokia phones with 30

each dialed, received and missed calls.

another feature available is data call register. usefull for people using rconnect.

Contacts and phonebook:-

Not much new here. Can store upto 500 entries

Gallery:-

Gallery has default folders for Images, video clips, graphics, tones

and recordings and a new folder Themes.

1.Images-u can store images downloaded through RWorld or though PC Sync

in jpg or gif format.

2.Video Clips-Clips are in 3gp format.u can also download more through

pc sync.(I havent tried yet how much clips u can save)

3.Graphics-it has four subfolders,wallpapers,scr. savers,clip-arts and

Frames.

U can edit images like u can add text, add the image into a frame n can

also send it like a MMS.

4.Tones-it has two subfolders Ring tones and Alert tones

Ring Tones-this phone supports 40-chord polyphonic ringtones

and it also supports mp3 ringtones. For now u can only download mp3

ringtones through pc sync. Can store upto 10-12 tones depending upon

size. Sound quality of Mp3 ringtones is very good.

Alert Tones-Comes preloaded with 10 alert tones. can be used

for msg alert tones.

5.Recordings-stores ur recordings

6.Themes-comes preloaded with four themes.more can also be downloaded

through pc sync.

I tried and was successfull in making a theme through Nokia theme

studio v1.2 and it worked great on the phone.

Media:-

it has Radio, recorder and equaliser menus.

Radio requires a headset.sound quality is stereophonic. can also be listened in monophonic. can be played through loudspeaker.

Settings:-

it's the same as found in other Nokia phones.

Extra settings r

Main Display-one can set banner, screen saver etc. settings for the

main display.it has also a power saver option available.

Mini Display-only power saver option is avialable.

Voice Commands-voice commands can be set for profiles, voice

mailbox,Radio, voice recorder and call register only.

in call menu u can also set the setting to answer the call when fold is opened.

Connectivity

The phone uses Cable (DKU-2) for connectivity,Transferring files is

very convenient and quick as well. Rconnect also works very fine.(Only

download drivers from the nokia website n not from reliance

website)

Extras(Games and Collection)

Comes with 3 games and two applications.Games available r 1.Snake EX2,

2.Galaxy balls and 3.Golf Tour. Apps-converterII and World ClockII.

Organiser:- it's the same.Nothing New

RWorld-u can see videos and save ringtones etc. from RWorld. Only 79

apps r available for this phone yet. Reliance website says it supports

audio n video streaming but i think it's of no use until they dont

enable it.i enquired from CC and they gave me the usual ans. "Dont know

when it will be made available".

:clap::clap:
