Reliance Cheated LG RD5340 Customers

Recommended Posts

@vishal

Its quite good that reliance is working on the r-world features of this handset.

It seems that you are quite satisfied with this little support from reliance, but my dear friend what will happen to the games and songs download from r-world which has been clearly mentioned in the broucher of this handset (i.e. LG RD 5340).

I would be satisfied only when reliance comes with the above much needed features through r-world.

Enjoy ! Regards.

Hi all,

Ringtone menu appeared on R-Menu of my RD5340 on 18th.Now I can browse, search, preview the ringtones .I have saved two ringtones yesterday. It shows “Saved successfully” .But I can not find the new ringtones in the ringtones list :clap1: .

I am able to download wallpapers from r-world and set them correctly.

Hi Vishal could you set ringtone successfully?

How can I activate the saved ringtones?

Please help, thanks in advance.

Dear friend, you are very lucky that you had downloaded the ringtone application from r-world on this lg rd 5340 handset.

When I tried the same on my handset, it just started to download the application and hang up in the middle. It looks that the handset tries to connect but failed.

Now I had to again visit the LG service centre for this problem. This is for the 3rd time when I am visiting the service centre after I bought this handset within 50 days.

Regards.

Hi everyone,

I don't know what problem occoured with you guys. When I saw the ringtone menu for the first time on my 5340 it was on 18th Mar as you all are saying.

I have browsed the menu and downloaded the Hum Tum song, it sayed 'saved successfully' and after exiting the r-world. I easily found the hum tum ringtone at the last of the list i.e. even after the SMS ring tone 3.

5340 has 19 inbuilt tones and 3 sms ring tones that makes the list of 22 tones and the hum tum ringtone I have saved is on the position no. 23

After listening to u guys, I have today itself tried to download one more ringtone of rang de basanti, it also sayed 'saved succesfully' and now it is on position no. 24 and playing correctly

thats all I can say

Hope U people find a solution, try downloading it again

no there is no firmware upgrade available for 5340 and also it doen't needs to have an upgrade.

My opinion is to check with bitpim that where is that ringtone file kept in your phone's file system

@ajith

You must go to the service centre and ask them to reload the software version. As when, they reloaded the software version on my handset, my problem of saving ringtones and wallpaper now been solved.

But one con for the bollytunes is that, maximum of the ringtones has very low sound volume. Even if you put your phone profile to "Outdoor", you can hardly listen to the ringer tone in the traffic areas.

yes you are right. ringtones which are downloaded from r-world have very low volume.

I think the ringer of this handset is not good, as other inbuilt ringtones which came with the handset too are not so loud as compared to other handsets.

I think that this is because of the ringer is on the back side of the handset. So, when we put our handset on the flat surface (eg. table) then the ringer volume decreased by nearly 60%.

I nearly miss 2-3 calls every day due to this problem, as the ringer volume cannot be heared to the next room.

So, this handset is not recommended for those who travel a lot, because it is nearly impossible to hear the ringer sound in traffic areas.

Hi,

I am using 5340 with a serial data cable (of 5130 or 6130 bought from ebay)

But till date, Bitpim does not recognise my handsets (5340 and 6230) and I am unable to proceed further.

Can you please let me know which data cable to use exactly? I am using Bitpim 0.8.07. I also had 0.8.08 which used to hang every often, hence I removed that and reinstalled 0.8.07. However, the same data cable is detecting one of my 350R FWPs and I was able to u/l some of the midi ringtones provided by Vishal Gupta. I tried all combinations and permutations possible to get Bitpim to detect all my phones, but to no avail. I even used LGKDP and UniCDMA, but no success. (Hi, Vishal Gupta, if you could throw some light, please do so)

Anyway with the financial year ending, I had to divert my time to accounts and hence I was unable to spare time for Bitpim. I shall once again try and post if I face any problems.

Thanks in Advance.

I am attaching a copy of the log as follows:-

It seems to be good enough that Reliance is working on the Rworld features for this handset. As, the new game section appeared in the Rworld Menu of the handset with some good games.

Now the only thing which is left with this handset is to download songs from Rworld, as it was clearly mentioned on the broucher of this handset that we can download songs from Rworld.

I think that Reliance must be working on this feature also.

Another con with this handset is that the memory of this handset is very less. It has only 2.29 MB of memory, which is not enough for Rworld features.

Hi All,

I really hate Reliance for what they did to me with this 5340!

I am stuck on this handset now (cuz I can't use HCC - as there was some stupid offer going on). I wasn'y aware of any offer and was interested in porting my old num to this handset.

First of all, I can't charge the phone while on Internet. The damn thing has charging point and data port on the same butt and they can't push in at the same time.

Second - my phone's ringer isn't workin' at all. It don't ring at all - bloody thing. The phone just vibrates and doesn' ring.

Third - there are so many people whom I can see they're calling but the MIssed calls won't register!

Can anybody please please help me out! I would like to change the handset if possible, but if not, can I resolve any of the above issues???

Thank you so much!

Dear friend all the users of this handset feels to be cheated by reliance. The only thing you can now do is, take the handset to your nearest lg service centre and get its software upgraded.

I think that your ringer and missed call problem will be solved by this.

You will see another con after software upgradation in this handset. That con is the ringer volume of this stupid handset is very low. You can hardly listen the sound of the ringer in traffic areas. Even if you had kept the handset in your trouser's pocket, you can't listen ringer voice.

All my dear friends I think that Reliance really really duped us. As till date we can't download songs on this handset (LG RD5340). Previously I thought that Reliance must be working on this feature for this handset. But know I am hopeless from Reliance. Only way left is to take them to Consumer Court. As we all are aware that it was clearly mentioned on the broucher of this handset that " Song downloads are possible through Rworld". But this feature is still not working for LG RD5340 handset.

ya reliance should be accountable for that . but they are very smart they should have done something to save themselves from legal angle .

but a forum should be there where all such public interest complaint regarding a mobile opertor can be lodged

@supernova

I think that I have to make 2 parties in this cheating case (Reliance & LG). As the broucher and the handset clearly indicates the logo of Reliance as well as LG. So both the parties will come under the scanner.

By the way I think that Reliance and LG both firms already knows that this handset could not download songs because the memory of this handset is merely 2.9 mb.

All my dear friends what do you think about downloading the songs in this 2.9 mb of space. In total of 2.9 mb we have to download Rworld feature also. I don't think even a single song can be downloaded on this 2.9 mb space available in this handset. When we download games and other stuffs from Rworld the space already go to its extent.

So this can become the clear case of cheating. How can any operator say in handsets specifications that a phone with just a little memory of 2.9mb will download songs through Rworld for its user.

What do you think my dear friends ? Please reply.

@ honest .. your comments seem to be impressive for a case . its good you asked opinions of others . somebody will come out with some points in favour of reliance or lg and some others to counter act that points . in a way we all with you to make a strong case .

somebody has to take initiative . i think not only on brochure , even its mentioned on the box of 5340

Friends when we take a connection from any service provider we fill out a form and sign it and give them, but we never care to read them,it says that we agree to their terms and conditions given overleaf or something like that. And most of the mobile operators and other service providers have all the things written in favour of them. They immunize themselves by taking our signatures.

My advice to you people is to go thru that and see where we have allowed/agreed reliance to not provide some services which are beyond their control and something like that.If you read the brochure properly there must be some words written in fine print saying network dependent. In short Lg will blame reliance and reliance,lg.And if the case go strongly against reliance they can come up with their service agreement.

I am not an expert in law but in my view these are the possiblities.

@prathod i was also thinking on your lines .

but though i too not an expert on law ; feels that there should be difference between services and set feature .

well Reliance get signatures while giving connections . but here question is of handset . A person can need not go for a new connection ; he can just shift to a better mobile just because it has all such facilities mentionedon box/brochure ; which is actually not there or not being provided .

I think a strong lawyer can make a strong case of it.And this can only be a good case in consumer courts.

You can also look out for ads on tv channels these days about some new ministry or commission which takes care of misleading ads,and also report this to them, and since its a new thing prompt action is guaranted.

But what is the compensation you people are expecting out of it ?

^^^

100% right dear Supernova. Dear Prathod you are also right at your point. But I think the clarifications supernova had given clears our doubt.

And about the fine print. One of the Airtel or Hutch (I'm not confirmed)customer already filed the case against the service provider and court orders in favour of the customer. In that case court fined the service provider of Rs. 5000/- and ordered the service provider to pay expenses beared by the complainant with it.

Court pointed out at the fine print. Court said that fine print on which service provider has taken the signatures of the customer was written in so tiny letters that it can not be read with naked eyes. Court directed the service provider to make fine print in bigger size font to be easily readable for every customer.

Regards.

But what is the compensation you people are expecting out of it ?

Dear Prathod no matters about the compensation. Matter is just to teach the lesson to both these parties. And when we file the case in court, and if we wins, than definetely court will decide the compensation alongwith expenses beared by us on legal matter.

By the way from my point of view, I definetely raise my voice in the court on behalf of all the users of LG RD5340. I demand from the court that not only me but also Reliance should compensate all the users of LG RD5340 handset. I will request the court to order Reliance to provide the details of the sales of this handset.

Afterall all the users are facing this problem. They also must be compensated. I think Reliance and LG both will have to pay in Crores to its users in compensation.

What do you think my dear friends ?

Regards.
