Recommended Posts

and for 3. Can u offer "do u want play tone now" instead of ringtone done succesful?

hmmm... this one's a bit doubtful, i'll try but cant say anything for sure.

(im not going to write Winamp by myself that's for sure -_- )

but i'll see what i can do.

hope that's enuf... and thanks for having the patience for reading such a huge post..

(PS:- I've got my AIEEE exams on the 20th of this month so..... no development until 21 atleast.. sorry..)

Hey cant it be like

Once the ringtone is made, the program saves a temporary file with extension .mid

and you can give a shell execute to open that .mid file if the user selects to play the file

Hi bored,

just trying to explain a few things here...

The forrum does not allow you to post midi files as attachments...

just rename it as dat.

Plus that ing going kuvvv....

Static could it be because of that signature you are added in the converted mid file.

Cause the problem seems to be in the end of the file.

Thats where your signature is...

You may wanna check it out.

Also static, Best of luck on your exams!!!

Hope you top the university....

Do well...

Well, if all u want is a shell then, what's the use of my program.. just use winamp!!

hah.. :)

U can use the original name,... atleast the first few letters of it..

(I hope u meant the name as in the phone )

Ya.. and about naming of the created midi.. can u create a subfolder in the directory.. with alll the new files.. the name exactly as the original

And for the tone be different from the original

BORED please explain a bit better, i could not understand exactly what you want to say, all i could gather is that the ringtone title should be the same as the filename..

and for

1. Take the original MIDI.. the one which is not modified by PSM player.. one which has the entire song.. not just 4KB

2. Now use your software

3. Trim it.

4. IT will definetely sound different.. with a lot of instruments deleted..

well, i tried it many times but never have the instruments been deleted.
About the BUGG s

Are u referrin to a ready made tone??

A ready made tone cannot be modified by your software

I know that ready made tones cannot be modified by my s/w cauz it's not written to do so... and i was not talking about ready made ringotnes..

i was talking about MIDI Files which have a RIFF (Resource Interchange File Format) header.

Plus that ing going kuvvv....

yeah, pretender, i'll surely check it out .. but i dont think that it's because of that sig.

because the signature is only 3 Bytes that too the trailing.

and 3 trailing bytes make no difference unless the file in question is a 1C file.

but BORED's File is actually a 7C file.

whew..

Will have to wait for the SINGLE S/W version.

That (U/l w/o Bitpim) Is currently out of question.

Increase In File Title Size is also impossible, since the format only supports 10 bytes (10 characters) ringtone title size.

yeah it'll surely be able to play both w/o renaming.(atleast hope so)

keep them coming..

mayank,

the RDRingtone Tool was never meant to directly convert MIDI files into .DAT files.

It's procedure is that the portion of MIDI which you want is to be clipped using PSMPlayer and then converted into .DAT file.

Also, you cannot use ringtones which are over 4KB in size.

P.S.- Watch those CAPS

Erlier before first time you uploaded software I was using it directly.i.e; I was cuting the file to 4kb and naming it dat.It was working. But I formated my system I lost all files.By the way 1SMPT as any problem. My system is hanging if I am keeping it.

well static had coded his Ringtone app in VC++ ... try to disassemble his proggy, it is not really protected... nor is the resource headers re-located! happy disassembling...

yeah when it comes to making a coder, i do not believe the language really matters (unlike what Roger Binns believes in) ... what matters is what u are good in !!

Cheers

Ashok

well, abhishek,

Both the programs above, were written in VC++ version 6.0

with MFC.

Although I havent used MFC in it as such.

It's nice to know that you would be willing to help me in coding.

Sure, i got no probs to share the source code SO LONG AS IT REMAINS AT RIMWEB.

(please bear with me , cant upload the sourcecode right now, will do it after i finish my sem exams)

Hi,

For guys looking for an online tool to edit midi files, checkout www.midieditor.be.

Theres also a midi sequencer tool available with which you can create ringtones from scratch. It can't be compared with PSMplayer, far few features than that.

cheers

Mathew
