Content-type Header

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I use text based browser most of the time to view rimweb forum.

From today ,I am getting the error message

"Content type is .Do you want to save or display this file?" and it displays the source html code when viewed in text browsers like lynx, links etc.

This is the response header got from rimweb.

HTTP Response Header

Name Value Delim

HTTP Status Code: HTTP/1.1 200 OK

Date: Fri, 03 Mar 2006 05:53:12 GMT CRLF

Server: Apache/1.3.34 (Unix) mod_jk/1.2.14 mod_fastcgi/2.4.2 mod_auth_passthrough/1.8 mod_log_bytes/1.2 mod_bwlimited/1.4 FrontPage/5.0.2.2635 mod_ssl/2.8.25 OpenSSL/0.9.7a CRLF

Connection: close CRLF

Transfer-Encoding: chunked CRLF

Content-Type: CRLF

The content type should have been

Content-Type: text/html

This works in normal browsers like IE,Mozilla etc .The problem is only with text based browsers

Cheers

Mathew

Hi,

A workaround would be to use the following option with [e]links

elinks -force-html http://rimweb.in

and it works perfectly.

If you have access to lynx then you don't even have to use any option.

Tried the -force-html option with links, not working for me.

Lynx works but lynx doesn't format tables.

Hi,

How about

elinks -default-mime-type text/html http://www.rimweb.in

can you post the output of elinks -version ?

We did have a change in server settings from about 48 hours back. I guess that has something to do with your problem. We are checking it and hope to fix the problem as soon as possible.
