LG RD6000 was same as international VX6000. But vx8000 differs a lot than the stated features of this 8000!

Surely the cost of these handsets will not be much high as Nokia handsets. But after all east or west Nokia is the best.

Regards.

@izzner

u shd know that nokia and RM are tied up for CDMA sets agreement

the tieup may be only for existing handsets and not for any new models. Nokia has exited the CDMA business, there is no coming back again to CDMA.

here is proof that the phones are coming :Riendo::Riendo::Riendo::Riendo:

check out this web site found it while searching for the phones on google click on the Rd8000 link

http://www.engadgetmobile.com/2006/07/28/fcc-fridays/

The two Pdf attachments have the photos and the manual looks like the choclaterd_8000_manual.pdfrd_8000_pics.pdf

These have been submitted to FCC for approval in July\06. And the manual clearly states it has R World in its menu so they must be headed to india soooon.

The menu clearly states that R world is a part of it so it has to be for Reliance.

If u check out the website the various documents were submitted in july with a letter to keep the pics and manual confidential for some time, and have only been released to the public in oct\06, so i guess they must be near ready for launch. :Riendo::Riendo:

Regarding camera, in menu, there is only one option named 'Camera', so can't be sure whether video recording is supported, though it should.

New features from the user's guide:

. 1 minute alert tone in call to know the running call-meter

. MP3 and Voice recorder

. D-day finder

. Changing dialing font size, color n style

. Powersave feature (u can enable/disable it, don't know what is it)

. Individual locking like outgoing, Rworld, contacts, message, call history

. My phone number

. Reserved message to be sent on particular date

. changing text color n background for message display

and ofcourse

. Bluetooth

Good additions!

It does look like the chocolate now the question is would it have features similar to the GSM phone ie KG800 or would be like the CDMA VX 8500 launched by Verizon in the US this month. The big difference i could make out was that the CDMA version has an expandable memory card slot but the GSM model has only 128mb internal memory, and the CDMA has ipod like controll buttons on the front.

Check out the VX 8500 http://www.verizonwireless.com/chocolate/

What say you???

@doc_anurag

It doesn't seem to have the round wheel. And it really shouldn't, IMHO, the rectangle looks much better than that round wheel.
