How much it costed me ?

Nothing ... the shop keeper owed me some money for some wierd code I had made for his inventory keeping :D

How much did I spend on it ?

Nothing... except maybe a few bucks to BEST while recharging the mobile :D

How many years am I owning it ?

From the start of the 501 scheme ... 3 years now!

Problems faced ?

None at all ... I resolve the issues myself :D

Best thing about it ?

Easily the most hackable handset after Kyocera 7135 in reliance :D

cheers

ashok

I too am not using myself this handset. I had given it to my executive for office use.

It will be better that customers who used this handset must also share their comments through this thread.

Hi,

I have 2 LG 2030 handset.

1. Got it three and half years before when reliance started. Although Reliance says that the handset was free but we all know how they gave this handset compulsorly making all of us club members of the club was never in existance. Used without any trouble till date although recentely it started showing some signs of aging. Battery life is ok. But horrible while travelling. Got a spare battery, in the beginning it worked very well but now it is almost useless. Planning to upgrade now.

2. Another one I got it second hand,( was also a DAPO hand set ) I got it for Rs. 500. Working perfectly alright, using as a prepaid for the last One year.

Basically these handsets are working well only recharing is a painfull affair.

Regards

LG's 2030 is an absolute workhorse... THE most ruff-n-tuff phone - so to speak - i've ever seen

Those good'ol days with the 2030 working 24x7 nonstop, with the Free Rconnect thing going :D:D

Still have mine lyin in the house somewhere, though havent been using it for quite a while....(i moved to gsm)

its NEVER given me any problems. Its a minor miracle the piece has survived all the (ab)use it was put to :)

I guess MOST of us here started with 2030 when RIL first came out with the 501 scheme

Yes, it is the oldest and most stable set of R*

Let me answer -

1: How much it costed you?

>> Nothing as we had R* share

2: How much spent on it?( change of battery etc)

>> Nearly 1K...for extra battery, charger and LCD change

3: From how many years u are owning it?

>> 3 years ...from that 501* offer

4: Problems faced with it till now?

>> Though it is very good and stable...two main problems are ...(1) Charger is not good (2) Bettery drain out very quick

5: Best thing about it.

>> Hardy, stable and great VFM (value for money!) :)

So that's it...cheers!!

Still using the LG 2030 phone as of 26 september 2007. I was one of the first guys to get the phone in the days when reliance was testing its service in Mumbai and even before they started the billing from May onwards. Was on DAPO plan and now on Life 900 plan.

No problems with the set. Works absolutely fine. Wonder of wonders it is still working on its original battery!
