Guys!

Its strange. My father is getting a mysterious call from +918040228400 on his cell phone.

When he attend the call, no voice comes and after a few seconds the call ends.

When he tried to call back, it says "The no. doesnt exist". :Equivocado:

Whats the matter? Can some one throw some light?

It must be your secret girl friend in Bangalore trying to get in touch with you, but she isn't speaking since your Dad is picking up the phone. Give her your number instead. :lol:

My dear friend first of all please tell us, which connection your father is using. If he is using Reliance, than surely there is a 100% chance that this problem (the no. doesn't exists) is due to the Reliance's network, as we all know that even if the called party's phone is busy sometimes we hear that "this no. does not exist" or "please check the number you have dialed" or "to resume service please call reliance customer care" etc. etc.

So in my point of view there is no need to worry at all my dear friend.

We all experience some of these types of problems every day. I too get many calls like this even from places which are too far from my home. I think, the only problem with you is you are giving more attention to this particular thing. Divert your mind and be happy.

So tell your father not to worry at all. And you also don't worry.

In the end let me tell you two things here my dear friend :
1. Some numbers are dedicated for only outgoing calls only and even if someone try to call that particular number than surely he / she will get the busy tone or number doesnot exist message.

2. If someone is using a fake telephone exchange to make outgoing calls than also there is a strong reason to get this message of "Number doesn't exists". But this happens mostly in MTNL and BSNL exchanges.

I'm not worried buddy but I found it strange so I asked.

Reg. to other things:

1. My father is using BSNL Pre-paid connection.
2. I also tried dialing the no. from his mobile as well as 2 other phones, 1 Tata and 1 Reliance.
3. Tata and Reliance says no. doesnt exist and If I try dialing from BSNL, I heard a few beeps and the call truncates.

At last I came to this conclusion that some one is calling using Voip and thats why I'm not able to call that incoming no.

So Mr. Vista in the last you have concluded the matter. You may be right that someone is trying to call using VOIP, that's why you can't call him back. I agree with you my dear friend. Enjoy !

Hi Vishal,

This does look like it is an Airtel number. And "The no. doesnt exist" usually will come for a number reserved for an outgoing only connection viz what telemarketers use. As it appears to me, it is a telemarketing call. As regards to it being a blank call, it could be a hundred reasons...connection issues, network problems etc....So relax and let it be and ask your father to do the same too.

Vishal Same here me getting strange calls froma number : 01140621300 and 1140621400 . .same problem with me from past 5 days . . . .

i am getting aroused to know what the hell is this..

It's a Bangalore Airtel Wirelline number. If you can catch hold of some one in airtel broadband customer care, the mystery will be solved. Most probably that might be a marketing telecall.
