  1. If anyone is looking for a cover for this phone at lesser price, the following link might be helpful to you : http://www.flipkart.com/wow-pouch-lenovo-a526/p/itmdyagvyj8sum62?pid=ACCDYAGVMNVZCZKR&icmpid=reco_pp_same_mobileaccessory_casescovers_2&ppid=ACCDYAGVQPD7YGHD This phone cover costs 399 bucks. It fits my E718 perfectly well
  2. After a few days of usage, I've observed that this handset generally delivers Internet at speeds ranging between 1 Mbps and 2.5 Mbps on Reliance network in EVDO mode. I think this speed is more than enough for anyone who does normal browsing or watches videos online occasionally on a CDMA phone. So, I'd say this handset is not bad at all for Internet data access ! However in my experience the signal reception and voice clarity on calls in this handset (using Reliance CDMA network) is just the same as with other phones. CDMA calls always get disconnected when the signal strength is low.
  3. Thanks for the info. When I am connected to the Internet, the phone shows 3G in green colour. So I was under the impression EVDO would give at least 3.1 Mbps speed Do we get higher speeds on mobile network from other CDMA service providers like MTS or TATA Indicom ?
  4. Based on your recommendation I have recently purchased this handset. It is a good phone for the price. But data speedon Reliance EVDO is only < 1Mbps most of the time.
  5. Lg 6300 ( CDMA )

Well Vijay, I really need the feature by which we can reduce/increase the brightness or contrast of the screen. High contrast in dark rooms is irritating. LG must have at least provided options to choose from a set of predefined brightness or contrast levels ! Otherwise the handset is quite good and I am satisfied.
  6. Lg 6300 ( CDMA )

Can anyone tell me how to increase/decrease the Screen Brightness or Contrast of LG 6300? There seems to be no option for this adjustment though all the older LG CDMA handsets had this feature !
  7. Samsung Mpower TV S239

Comparison of CDMA and GSM has always been a debatable topic. Technically, CDMA offers far superior voice clarity and security. Once, a GSM phone was hacked in India. Hacking CDMA phone is next to impossible and none has hacked a CDMA system till date. CDMA is a patented technology : for every CDMA handset, royalty needs to be paid to Qualcomm. Hence, the increased price of a CDMA handset. Yet, new CDMA handsets are flooding the market, with good features and at affordable prices (thanks to LG & the aggressive Samsung). So, I do not feel your statement is completely true.
  8. This topic is to discuss how CDMA technology is superior to GSM technology, which is dominating the world mobile market. From my opinion, CDMA has following advantages: 1) Superior Voice Clarity, 2) Higher Security due to inability to break the CDMA code uniquely assigned to him by operator. Feel free to post your comments/views.

Thanks again for the detailed info about the Dolby sound quality and the 'RD' explanation. MP3 Player quality is important for all music lovers. I saw this handset model at Reliance Digital. Quoted price is 4,600 INR. Is this price normal or high for this handset ? And I have another question : if I use LG 6300 for an MTS SIM and use the handset abroad (or in an area where MTS service is N/A), will I still be able to use the phone's other features like MP3 Player, Alarm and Calendar? My older CDMA handset LG RD 3000 doesn't show TIME when restarted (switched ON) when there is no signal. So Calendar and Alarm cannot be used.

Does RD 6300 have Dolby Sound? GM200, which is its GSM counterpart is said to be a "Dolby Mobile". Dolby sound is unique and superior.
  11. Samsung Mpower TV S239

Hi. Apple iPhone also does not have a 3.5 mm jack. It has a circular slot too, but is smaller in diameter than a normal 3.5 mm jack. There is a conversion adapter available in market, whose one end is compatible with the iPhone and the other end with the 3.5 mm jack. Using this, we can plug-in any headphone and listen to music from iPhone. What type of slot exists in Samsung for headset/earpiece? Is it similar to the one in iPhone? The one I was talking about, Mpower Muzik 219 have Samsung's own proprietory earphone and slot. The mid and higher range ones comes with the standard 3.5mm headset and its fitting slot. Other than SCH-S379, 3.5 mm jack is available in no other mobile. Even the latest models like Duos SCH-W259 & the MPower TV-Phone SCH-S239 haven't got it. So, I posted this question.
  12. Lg 6300 ( CDMA )

This topic is for LG 6300 not for 3600 Apologies for typing mistake....i did mean LG RD 6300 and not RD 3600 !

  14. Lg 6300 ( CDMA )

Specs sheet says this model has a 3.5 mm jack, which is a good feature as we can plug in any earphone/headphone to enjoy music. My brother's Apple iPhone (GSM) is good in that department. Has anyone tried listening to music from this handset using any other good quality headphones? How is the bass and treble ?
  15. Lg 6300 ( CDMA )

Kapil Dev and VijayM, since Flight Mode is not mentioned in the spec doc file of RD3600, I was doubtful of the same. Thanks for the info.
