  1. New R-connect Service.

What about the FWP in this scenerio? How do we use that phone?
  2. Make Phone Call thru Computer

These are not PSTN phones. These are run by software that is burned onto a EPROM located inside the phone. Depending on what access the software gives depends the service we can take from it. All these thigs depend on the AT commands that are fired. Since the AT commands are restricted on these phones (custom manufactured for Reliance) many things wont work. Even things like sending SMS, download the address book etc. TIP: Try searching for the international version of the same phone that reliance provides us, the features that are provided to us here in India are far too less. Its all a makketting stunt they keep doing cause we Indians are not tech savvy
  3. New Rates For R-connect

BSNL gives speed of only 56Kbps(PSTN) and reliance (CDMA) gives 115 on FWP and 145 on Mobile So is BSNL still cheap? And Reliance being wireless makes you mobile even with the FWP. You can browse the net in your local garden
  4. Discriminatory Tariff For Dapo

You get out of the DAPO plan and you loose the FREE SMS and the 40p call fecility.
  5. Rconnect From Palm Os

Hi, Any idea how does the Reliance Kyocera handset works and connects directly to Inet? I had a Null Moden built locally and tried connecting the FWP to the Palm using a serial cable. But the question is what sort of Network and Connection settings are required. For the PC there are some init strings. What I feel is that we will need some modem driver preferably a CDMA one. There are many such drivers but did not find any CDMA one. Any further luck please let me know. -R@njit
