  5. Jan 8th is the hearing of the curative petition and am sure after that there would be clarity...from 27th onwards all circles except Rajasthan has to send communication to Customers about disconnection of services...am sure there will be a paper advertisement and also a SMS trigger to Customers With the current situation, am sure the curative petition will be succesful for MTS and would continue operations...but the concern would be after sending the communication there will be a major impact in number of Customers porting out (Voice) but again to regain this market share will be a tough task There are quite a lot of Customers using Voice as people know the quality of Voice and Data is much better than GSM (May be people would not agree here) I have been using a CDMA connection from atleast 2003 onwards and also GSM connection of BPL (Hutch / Voda) / Airtel from 1998 onwards have seen the difference in CDMA

  8. Ys only on attaching the ID card as proof of Identity
  9. This is a good plan for Army / Police personal, by taking a connection with Rs. 50/- FRC, Customer gets 50 minutes of TT (Local+STD) CUG - Free Local Onnet/Offnet Calling - 30p STD - 40p Restriction in Numbers on individual name is upto 5 connections CUG will be auto added with the core group All STV / TU's are allowed to recharge...this looks like a good plan
  10. Look at the data cost you will be spending to view the advt, 10p/10kb?? is it worth it?? Some useless marketing guy would have projected this beautifully
  11. MTS Launches 3 New CDMA Featurephones

Friends...I have some thought about it 1. MTS was the only operator who had bid for CDMA in 2008, when everybody else opted for GSM 2. If MTS had gone ahead and participated in the 2G auction, their Curative Petition would have become Void (Court would have said, if you have not done anything wrong, then why did you bid in the auction) 3. With this price on 800Mhz, it would not be viable for a CDMA operator to make money out of this 4. MTS might wait for the supreme court order (On the Curative Petition) if it succeds then it would continue going the same way, if it fails, then it would look at taking up one of the operators who have participated in the bid (Aircel / Videocon / Idea / Uninor) The mentioned operators does not want to really participate and look at launching services, they are just here to see a prospective buyer and sell their licences Am sure Videocon is full and full backed by Mukesh Ambani, rest players would be out for sale soon
  12. MTS Launches - Data card on Rent for Tourists After a soft launch in Goa and seeing success, the same is being replicated at all tourist destinations It comes with Rs. 2000/- and Customer can recharge with any of the available denomination & this is returnable at the same price Looks like a good proposition, but why will somebody pay Rs. 2000/- when he / she can get a datacard for < Rs. 1000/- With the new activation process coming in, even prepaid activation is going to get delayed. It might work if our entire system of prepaid / postpaid activation is streamlined
