first you need a omh sim card,... go to settings-->wireless controls->mobile networks-->cdma settings-->reliance net connect over there just give your phone number in both user name and password and you can use evdo

In the location settings there is no option such as 'use wireless network' I can't understand why it doesn't use wireless network to locate my position. Why this setting is hidden. Don't know what reliance people are upto.

  8. Samsung Galaxy I899 Launched In Reliance CDMA

yea your kinda right but this phone has GPS not A-GPS... so there are few things you should know before ur phone can fix your position. 1)instal gps test 2)open the gps test app and wait for it to get the fix 2)stay in a open place (trees, buldings etc will make it worst) 3)wait for sometime for the gps to fix ur position (from few seconds to even minutes if there r many obstructions) 4)if that didnt work restart your phone and repeat from step 2 5)after the position is fixed just go into google maps and use it. i tried it and it workd pal. trust me
  9. Samsung Galaxy I899 Launched In Reliance CDMA

nope thats wrong. you can use evdo in phone. last time i checked in speed test it gave me a speed of nearly 1mbps or so in the night. but drops down to 200 or 300 kbps in the morning you need to change the settings and put ur mobile number in the place of 'username' and 'password'.

can anybody confirm why reliance is advertising 4gb internal memory in their site? i have the phone and i cant see 4gb of space in any direction.... is it only me or others are also having this same issue????
  12. Samsung Galaxy I899 Launched In Reliance CDMA

i guess these people are talking about the possibility of upgrading the android os. in fact for this particular phone there is no way they can do it untill unless it gets hacked or reliance people are kind enough to to release an update(which is imposible )
  13. Samsung Galaxy I899 Launched In Reliance CDMA

1)you hav to root/hack(which is not there for this phone) your phone for the 2.1 BT File Transfer to work 2)Samsung Customer Care doesnt upgrade it to 2.1 i confirmed it from them 3)gps takes a lot of time to pin point u 4)phone gets heated up very soon
  14. Samsung Galaxy I899 Launched In Reliance CDMA

this phone is a big cheat got it the 1st day in chennai. and was disappointed from that time. 1)there is no bluetooth file transfer (even the basic phones has this feature) 2)it has cupcake 1.5 (ancient os) 3)gps takes a lot of time to pin point the location 4)no google maps navigation support because it has OS 1.5 5)it gets heated up pretty soon what all you need to do to get these things working 1)you need to hack or root the phone (which is not available for this phone and nobody is even intrested to hack this phone) 2)there is no firmware upgrade for this phone i contacted the Samsung customer service people regarding this and this is what they replied ----------------------- so untill and unless the reliance communication takes a step ahead and releases an update dont go for it. wait for them to update the phone. or everybody send a request to them so that they do it.
