I don't use MS Office on my home laptop, don't see much use for it. Open Office does the trick. Plus not sure if I have ever opened anything besides a simple word doc or a simple spreadsheet (nothing that OO cannot handle) on the home laptop. How about you guys, do you see much use of the MS Office suite on the home PC? I have to agree that given the right price, I wouldn't mind paying for it - rather than use a pirated copy - if there is some use for it. Office laptop obviously came loaded with the professional version.

They have a fabulous system of giving out a free (to use) Wifi router when you take the subscription. They claim it is based on "4G" technology and instead of giving you internet through a USB plugin, it's through this Wifi router. They had installed their equipment on our society terrace. But there was some supposed issue in payments they were to make to society, so currently it is not working in our building. Eager to try it out though.

Is Rimweb Turning To Be Buy And Sell Market Place?
Harshal replied to kshah's topic in Forum Feedback
I think Dr. Gagan has made some excellent suggestions. The posts here are more about buy/sell being a bone of contention than anything else - quite different from what the OP intended. Haven't we discussed By/Sell issues in the past too? -
Well if its for data only then I should be good. Dad is more than content with a phone. I dont even see the MP3 or the 2MP camera put to good use. . The most important feature for him was that the phone has 99 speed dial.

I bought one for Dad yesterday for 5800/- in Bombay. What would be the advantage of putting an OMH SIM as opposed to using the current RUIM.

Have you tried using Treo Call Log Tool to see if it can access the call log? If so you might try to delete some records. Also try using MyCallLog.

The Chinese are amazing. Quite well protected behind the great (fire) wall put up by their govt., to carry on such hack attacks.

Interesting article on Cost of making the phone. A research firm that tears down electronics products says Google's Nexus One has "the most advanced features of any smartphone ever dissected" by it. iSuppli said it has examined several smartphones including Apple's iPhone. iSuppli estimates that the cost of hardware components in the Nexus One [its Bill of Materials (BOM)] totals $174.15. In addition to the Snapdragon, the Nexus One features Broadcom's BCM4329 chip, which integrates 802.11n, Wi-Fi- Bluetooth and FM technologies. The mobile phone also includes Synaptics Inc.'s ClearPad 2000 capacitive touch screen sensor. The teardown estimate did not include expenses beyond hardware, such as software, manufacturing cost, accessories or royalties. Unlocked, the Nexus One handset sells for $530. New T-Mobile customers can buy it for $179 when they commit to a data plan. Materials to build the Apple 3GS cost $179, iSuppli reported in June. The 3GS sells for $199 with a data plan or $599 unlocked. The Nexus One appears to be attracting new commitments from suppliers and from Google itself. Google's Andy Rubin, who leads the search company's mobile phone operation, said at the Consumer Electronics Show last week that the company's next handset will be aimed at enterprise users. According to media reports, it may have a physical keyboard. Also at the CES event, Qualcomm's chief executive Paul Jacobs said his firm expects to support Google's Chrome operating system. Chrome would likely be a good fit for the two firms, because Qualcomm's speedy 1 GHz Snapdragon processor is the hardware heart of the Nexus One. The Snapdragon, said iSupply, gives the Nexus One "processing muscle -- most notably high-definition 720p video playback." iSuppli noted that the Snapdragon is already being used in Toshiba's TGO1, but added that the Nexus One's 2.1 Android operating system is particularly well suited to use the processor's fast performance. The market research firm also cited the Nexus One for its "signature" 3.7-inch AM-OLED display. "With the Nexus One, Google has taken the most advanced features seen in recent smart phone designs and wrapped them up into a single sleek design," said iSuppli's Kevin Keller, in a statement. "This gives the Nexus One the most advanced features of any smart phone ever dissected by iSuppli's Teardown Analysis Service -- a remarkable feat given the product's BOM is similar to comparable products introduced during the past year." Still no phone support is definitely a cause of concern. Especially in a market like US.

Good question BTW can someone answer on the price part and possibly compare it to the Corby?

May be you get an SMS from Google to track updates once you check your PNR.

I have been noticing an ever increasing rise in SMSes received from an address TM-??????, including several banks. There was a constant bombardment of SMSes during the MH state elections. I am a CA, and sadly educated co-professionals also do not respect privacy of a cell phone. During the CA elections, again there was a barrage of SMSes pouring in daily. Yesterday however, it crossed all limits. I got these 2 SMSes in a short span of time: 1. TM-IMIA CONGRATULATION YOU HAVE WON 750,000 GBP IN TH2 2010 SHELL INT"L MOBILE DRAW, TO CLAIM YOUR WINNING PRIZE, CONTACT DR PEDRO VIA email spdc113@live.com 2. TM-ICC CONGRAT.YOUR MOBILE HAS WON 600,000:00GBP IN THE SHELL PROMO DRAW TO CLAM,CONTACT DR. BROWN KAY,EMAIL.spdce009@live.com tel; 447014236077 Wow!, it was enough that we got emails of this nature, and thankfully there are powerful junk blockers for that, but now even SMSes. Is there a way to stop all this crap from coming through? The worst part is that how do you catch hold of the person sending these SMSes.
