This one comes on Virgin with new name Vsleek (in black and looks good compared to silver) and priced at Rs. 2999/- with ruim and lifetime validity as advertised in newspapers these days. I asked a vendor and he says it works with reliance, and he has already sold some to reliance connections. Good handset at price. Would like to get feedback from the people who already use it. Ya, I still do. Problem is, I can only get it given it works on Reliance, which is confirmed just now. Yep, because of the same reason. I am neither a techie nor a seller like you, so that if that damn thing doesn't convert, I am stuck with it and can't sell it to others . If you can provide the names of shops that do this conversion, that will be much more contributing to the discussion.

The price is not announced and how do you know it is affordable?.

Mobile lifespan has been reducing as the tech and supported features are updated very fast. Spending more than 15 thousand on a phone which gets absolute in a years time and looks junk in every aspect is not justifiable. So chinese mobiles are here to stay, only consumer needs to be well informed, why to buy and where to buy. I am not for giving a support to big players, who drain common man in the name of brand equity.

Just think about that plain simple OS with google applications like Google Maps, Google documents and gMail and many more. At affordable hardware costs. Now does that appeal you?

agreed, nokia is sustaning on brand equity. other than high end one, rest of their product line is crap. not keeping with the trends, and overpriced.

Hutch/Vodafone in mumbai has more problems that reliance. voice clarity is better on reliance and ofcourse data capabilities. Don't think reliance will move CDMA business to GSM. Infact more companies are coming into CDMA. videocon, bsnl etc.

I don't believe the extent till some references given. But media's anti hindu bias is visible. It is more because of the english education which is controlled by Christian Missionaries.

In Airoli where we stay it is not working in our home, made a complaint to MTNL but as usual no action on it.

I think Mittal issues this statement every now and then to influence the market sentiments. Now he is bothered about ARPU as new entrants will definately play price war an Gov. & TRAI know that their is still cope for reducing the tariff.

I agree, from Goa to Mumbai which is a heavy tourist route, reliance has forgotten to make their presence felt. I pity their planners, you can find idea, airtel, bsnl at most of the locations but no reliance.

Both TATA's and Reliance's n/w is 3G-ready(EvDO). Govt. is not allowing them to start the operations. What do u mean by 3G ready? is it that they have infrastructure ready for 3G?

try inserting a RUIM card from somebody and using the handset after that.

can you give in samples here, i just need to compare those with my wife's LG M4410, which is also 1.3MP, lacks some sharpness, but otherwise good. how fast the snaps saved to the MMC? I mean in LG M4410 in takes hell amount of time, but in phone memory it is ok.
