update on data usage charges : am on data continuously; am being charged 15rs. per day (for 24 hours continuous usage); now, i switch off data at night when I dont want to be disturbed by continuous emails and switch it on in morning and VOILA.... all my emails sync...

btw, that guy on ppcgeeks has got all the 3 points wrong... either he doesnt know how to use his device or is just a scammer from MS bent on bullshi**ing...

I have tried all... hotmail, gmail, yahoo etc.... now i dont need to sync anything with microsoft's monopolistic systems... the incredible power I am feeling on this device can only be felt after experiencing... i have 7 pages unlimited scenes in which I can customise each and evrything I want on my phone... any contact, any program any settings, where I want it, not where the the phone wants it... Its the OS I am in love with not the device.... devices will come and go... but right now its the best we have.... experience will only be better on cdma nexus one but thats tomorrow... so live today...

Try hard resetting your device...

what a phone.... just updated my rom to a custom one on 1.56 base from 1.29 and everything restored by itself.... all my contacts, sms, calendars, call history etc... as if nothing had happened or changed... just wonderful...

After tasting HERO, I can only say god save those who say we dont have good handsets in CDMA.... Corby is but a very ordinary phone with a nice feature list.... thats all...

Some initial pointers on Hero (mainly in context to my comparison with Windows Mobile Devices like Pro/Mogul)- - I can safely say that Android is one of the best operating systems I have used TILL DATE on a phone, specially if you are a Google, Gtalk and GMail user. It is a revolution. The way it handles your gmail and chat is astounding and instanteneous. It pushes mail & CHAT faster than it reaches my inbox/pc. Dont be surprised if it give a death blow to blackberry devices in the coming months. - Speaker Phone and Voice Clarity is superior to Pro and Mogul. - It is nearly half in overall form factor of the Pro/Mogul due to shallow depth due to lack of physical keyboard. - Typing on Hero was a PAIN initially but then I discovered that the device is capable of adjusting itself to your touch style and after proper settings the same has improved but still some way to go.... I am missing my friendly stylus a lot... - All my contacts and calendar events came into my phone by wifi even before I had activated my no. on the phone. - My location and weather were automatically detected by the phone and updated without me having to feed anything. My God.... this is a spy phone!!! I fear for my privacy.... - Music Playback on standard 3.5mm can rival any ipod... - Browser was much superior to anything we have seen on windows mobile... - At a price point of less than half than that of the iphone, I can safely say that this the best value for money gadget of this year... wait for more...

@starnet cant be sure about Samsung N120, but u need to look for a mini pci card slot on your motherboard to be able to install wwan card (look at posted photos) like the one i got from ebay; also there needs to be a provision for installing sim card; afaik most newer notebooks have both;

comparative download speeds I got were 0.15Mbps on Aircel and 0.61Mbps on BSNL 3G and 0.21 on Reliance GSM; havnt used Airtel.... Location was City Centre, Meerut.... will update soon on my next trip to Delhi/Faridabad... maybe its better there.... I have posted my ACTUAL bsnl speed test data here - ; other members may be kind enough to post actual speed data's also...

Aircel to sell 17,000 towers by mid-February thats what happpens to cash strapped companies....

I have taken aircel gprs with 98 unlimited at meerut (west-up circle) for using with my laptop on the move, and my experience is just opposite. The connection keeps dropping every now and then and speeds are pathetic. I am getting much better speeds and stable connection with bsnl 3g sim and am getting (introductory) 6 gb data download per month for the first 2 months @ 120/-...

I have used/am using a no. of different cc like, standard chartered, citibank, sbi, diners etc., but I feel it is the sbi card which is most transparent and trouble free with no hidden charges or wrong billings; i started with low limits (about 20k) but have gradually increased it multifold based on my purchase history with no charges...

No lag here in West UP; and as I am also using facebook application with twitter, one single sms (@1p) updates both my Twitter & Facebook account instantaneously...
