I wud say its all MatheMagic! Tata started the service after RIM did, still facing such basic issues. somehow TATA has never managed to sell its product in the right manner! Its free talktime thing also never picked up! Wht r its marketing guys doing?

Now it wud be fine to go for handsets widout R-World!! Atleast 1 pain in the neck abt charges on R-World wud be out!

As i mentioned earlier, i'd seen this phone at the Matunga WWE(Mumbai). It is definitely a lil bulky than the 6225. But it could suit a different set of ppl. Looked good to me. Didn't get the time to divulge in the menus then though!

BUS ROUTES! in a city like mumbai, its so very useful !

The prices nowadays ARE without GSK. That means its jus the handset cost. To get a prepaid or postpaid connection u will need to buy a GSK accordingly worth 220 or 550 bucks! thts the reason of "variation"!

do u need a live telephone to access MTNL Broadband? I mean doesn't it come with a separate cable wire?? coz if thts so, then ur phone is engaged till u use Broadband and if u want to avoid that u need a new phone connection n have to pay additional rentals over it! With these download caps, i think i'm better off wit my present CABLENET connection!

The price for this phone at Matunga WWE (Mumbai) is Rs. 5000/- (without any free RCVs). But i was quite surprised coz the person there said tht its available only in Prepaid still. I wonder y? I guess its becoz its bundled with the 4 RCVs worth Rs. 440/each. In that case the phone is tagged at Rs. 6760 /- Has anybody gone for this handset yet? 5k for a Flip phone is quite good! Reviews awaited!

Hope u've got the essence of this dormancy? If u use R-Connect in its regular manner(without ping) then u CAN recieve incoming calls while using R-Connect, provided there is no data transfer happening! But if u use PING, that means there is continuous exchange of data going on and hence the phone cannot recieve incoming calls. But PINGing helps avoid the phone going into dormancy! Make ur choice and use accordingly!

Jus happened to visit a RWWE today. Saw 1 more new handset! Nokia 6012 - Rs. 6500/- Didn't have the time to divulge into details of the handset. But its a colour handset and doesn't have FM!

I quite understand ur situation "askme". Now that u know the phone in and out, it wud interesting to know from you all abt RD6000. Mind writing a detailed report on the phone??

The WWE guys r equally duh! I met 1 yesterday. They r quoting 2 rates becoz of the difference in price for the GSK. so if the handset actually costs Rs. 2999, then the prepaid counterpart will cost 2999+220 n Postpaid will cost 2999+550. They dont talk abt GSK, they simply quote the price. Sadly they dont even know the exact prices. I've got some from the WWE yesterday, but he wasn't quite sure! "Total Un-utilised mins" Get this thing clarified. Becoz by the words it states, it means that if in a month u use 300mins of Voice n 200 mins of R-Connect, then 300 mins + 100 mins will be billed in Plan Minutes while rest 100 mins as Beyond Plan Minutes. That also means, that all ur mins get utilised. Also, ur R-Connect mins are not deducted from Plan Minutes unless ur Voice Minutes are all accounted with 400 mins. If ur bill talks something else, then check up with WW, Chairman's Office.

In this kinda situation, its wiser to borrow money and get this rut outta ur hands! In such a way atleast u wudn't have to bear the cost every new month, coz until u pay ur connection is live, and till then u'll be burdened with 1500 bucks. 1 more way outta this, is get a stupid credit card which these days companies offer, pay the bil thru the credit card. And then keep settling with the credit card company month after month... Beware:: Credit card is a vicious cycle. I dont really recommend it. This is jus a way to come out of this. But i think by now u'd be sensible enuf to be in ur own reach! Dont mess with credit card companies, they can send the big goons to ur home to settle bills! Hope u r above 18 to get a credit card! If not credit cards, goto the "Town Office" and not RWW, to ask for a one-time settlement. Tell them that u r in a position to pay say 15000 bucks(or anything) and settle the bill. It might work. & borrow this money from a close helpful frnd.
