I had got this offer via a mailer they sent to billing address, do not remember the choice of handsets but seems it contained nearly all the handsets listed on website.

Hi Rajan, Kamal,
Please add one more point in the FAQ regarding how would caller identify if number is onnet or not, for free calls.
The same point that Kamal has already addressed in other post.

^^^ Unless he is using an ongoing plan in both the MDNs, he cannot change the plans.. Like for example 440 rs, r to r unlimited cannot be activated to a new number now or tranfered from one number to another number...
True that, if he is high ARPU he can threaten to port and see if any good retention offer suits his needs though.

Lol I actually clicked on Honest signature thinking it would be some scheme, should have known
-
@honest you have tested this? I mean why'll they advertise another providers no?
@igloo
Dear friend, in other countries, where MNP implemented long ago, it works like this only.
Very true Kamal bhai. This is a very important point for those with onnet unlimited calls so thanks for clarifying this.

Called up MTS Mumbai to probe Few Details...Here is the summary...
-Browsing on Phone is Totally Free in Postpaid Plan. Only when you download something, it is chargeable...
Better err on the side of caution Rajan bhai, all browsing (except maybe IM) will download something to the buffer, e.g. if you browse YouTube for sure heavy data will be downloaded to buffer, even though you did not specifically download something to your mobile.
But great thing that they are openly allowing imported handsets. RCom and TI - wake up and smell the coffee! Grrr.

I sent port request yesterday from my RCDMA number, got the porting code. Was expecting atleast someone would call and enquire why am I porting as I am high ARPU customer (Rs 1200+ on normal bill and ~ Rs 1500 on times when I am on roaming) but got no calls till now. Getting determined to port, or at least to switch to RCDMA prepaid with lower tariff.
-
I have 2 RCDMA No's both on same Name & Address.
MDN A with Plan X
MDN B with Plan Y
Is it possible to get
MDN A with Plan Y
MDN B with Plan X
I require only MDN A with Plan Y. MDN B is not necessary.
Hi Saurav,
But this is not operator porting. It seems you want to be with RCDMA and change the plans within same operator itself. So why do you not call RCDMA CC and ask for change of plan on MDN A? Or am I misunderstanding your post?

Is Reliance Expecting PORT IN from any customer?
WW in my area has not recieved any Forms even they are unaware of process for PORT IN. I tried RGSM to RCDMA.
No offers from them.
They must not be expecting any port ins lol that is why they are not bothering with telling WW of process, else by now they would have been active like other operators trying to woo customers. How did the WW people react when you told them you wanted to port in did they gasp and fall off their chairs?

Rudradeep,
Tariff war will only come if MDA comes and shakes up the market. Others are followers, MDA is leader. Just my opinion though and would be happy to see a tariff war with consumers benefiting.

Facepalm picture is epic

What is RCOM upto though
Rajan bhai the "Shashwat" project is not viable, there was an earlier attempt for a $10 computer with poor results. The ministry of IT/Telecom/HRD should sponsor promising startups like Notion Ink instead of inventing such devices. NI did not even have money to rent a booth at CES effectively killing off the Adam due to lack of publicity.

BSNL offers unlimited EVDO at Rs 750 pm with free roaming. Why then the 1 Mbps/2Mbps wired broadband plans which are having equivalent/lower speeds are more expensive? These products would lose share to EVDO.

No chance of a new laptop at 10-11K...You can look for Second Hand...May be a Low Spec One...
But if all you need is light browsing, Why not look for those Chinese Tablets with Wi-Fi...Starts From 7K
True but my budget is low simply because it will be used by my parent for some occasional surfing/printing documents etc. My home PC is outdated and renovating it would cost 5-6K so better to have an ultra low cost laptop.
For 15K mark I am able to find very low spec new laptop online but wanted to check with you all if anything lower than that is there. Tablet does not make sense for reason mentioned above.

Good info.

I am currently on postpaid Rs. 770 RCDMA-RCDMA unlimited STD plan and am looking for a cheaper tariff. Will this plan be beneficial for me, I use RCDMA primarily for STD. Though the prepaid details for this are clear, confused by what are the tariff options for postpaid.
All these depends on quantam of usage. If you PM me your last bill copy (No need of first page), I will suggest you.
Thanks for help, my average bill comes to Rs 1200+. Most of my calls are STD to RCDMA but last few billing cycle am making very few STD so last bill will not be an indicative thing. Presently I have the Rs 770 rental and Rs 11 SMS pack on. I am willing to pay the Rs 770 for rental but the pain area is all local calls are charged at Re 1 per minute. Is there any option to convert the local and STD (non RCDMA) to pay per second plan with existing plan? That way I could reduce some costs.

Guess you can take your average usage for last 6 months and do a simple calculation with the new tariff plan and postpaid 770 plan. Go for whichever works out cheaper. I am currently on Reliance 440 (free on-net) plan and nothing beats this plan in terms of peace of mind.
Thanks for suggestion, true about Rs 440 plan but it is no longer available for new customers I guess.

I think Tanveer is talking about AOSPmod 2.2 for hero, AOSP has certain limitations compared to sense.
But again, will wait for Tanveer to confirm.

CPU is 550 MHz and battery is 1390 mAh, both too less. Price if 23K too high.

Unless TATA also registers the handset in its database, how can it work on it's Network? And Tata Programming also needs to be done even if it is registered by TATA as it will be non-ruim based handset..
So I guess it's possible the other way round - that is porting a tata number to reliance on a handset registered in reliance
True that is what is Hetal suggested some pages back.
