My first google market purchase Need for Speed Shift Thanks to this promotion five bucks dont seem too much for nfs.

i just received samsung captivate purchased from ebay brand new. everything works , its fully unlocked but it doesnt support third party apps yet. in incredible settings i had this option to enable it but not in captivate. can anyone suggest how to get it? i m not even able to install sygic app

install super user permissions app from market - restart root your captivate with a free sw called superoneclick (this will also let u enable 3rd party apps with one click) once done then follow these steps Step 1. - Retrieve nv_data.bin file use "adb shell" or a terminal emulator to get a terminal prompt and run the following commands Code: su cat /efs/nv_data.bin >> /sdcard/nv_data.bin Step 2. - Edit nv_data.bin file mount the internal SD Card on your computer make a backup copy of the nv_data.bin file on your computer using your favorite HEX editor like hex workshop open the nv_data.bin on the sdcard jump to address 0x181468 you should see a string like this ff 01 00 00 00 00 46 46 there are 5 different types of locks in 5 different bytes the FF byte should be left alone the first byte after the FF is the network lock the next byte is the network subset lock the next byte is the sp lock the next byte is the cp lock the last byte appears to be a data lock. the 46 46 should be left alone Change any 0x01 to 0x00 (or 0x00 to 0x01 to lock for warranty) It should read ff 00 00 00 00 00 46 46 for unlocked save and close file unmount SD Card Step 3. - Replace nv_data.bin file I want to say it again so no one misses it MAKE SURE YOU HAVE A BACKUP OF YOUR NV_DATA.BIN FILE BEFORE YOU CONTINUE!!!!! use "adb shell" or a terminal emulator to get a terminal prompt and run the following commands Code: su rm /efs/nv_data.bin rm /efs/nv_data.bin.md5 cat /sdcard/nv_data.bin >> /efs/nv_data.bin chmod 755 /efs/nv_data.bin chown radio.radio /efs/nv_data.bin || chown 1001.1001 /efs/nv_data.bin reboot your phone is now unlocked... enjoy

now even i have managed to detect ad-hoc on incredible1 but even this one stucks at obtaining ip address

Issue 1 : it detects adhoc wifi but doesn't connect. Stuck at obtaining ip address

Please guide me. As my photon detects Ad-hoc wifi connection but gets stuck at "obtaining ip address" after i give it the WEP key.

My phone came from Hetal Bhai with 2.3.4.1A-1_SUN-198_7 and till now I havent had any issues. Using it on Idea GSM only with data on all the time. Battery is decent and you get fair idea of hours remaining with Battery Widget Pro. Love its kickstand and speaker quality. As I listen to lot of audios with only vocals & no music. Its great for music too and the way you can have different audio effects for speakers & headphones separately. Sygic works awesome with accurate Gps. Camera quality I have already shown on this post I havent checked if its rooted as would love to get ad-hoc working on it.

in my few days of extensive use , i m yet to experience this reboot issue so i m not aware of it.

i have been using photon for idea prepaid gsm. even though the ussd doesnt work but after every session of call or data i get detailed balance & expense info. which is what i wanted by using any of these codes! btw ussd worked well with my last phone which was a world phone - Touch Pro 2

okay i have my photon now and using it on gsm prepaid. i do get balance after every call or data session but not if i dial the codes to get the balance as already said here that ussd doesnt work on it yet.

yes reliance confirms that the data plan would work on roaming too.

Finally with huge help by Parin Ji I succeeded in unlocking the phone and install third party apps. first time i rooted a phone, superuser permissions, network unlocking & even used hex editor

thanks but today on i managed it through superoneclick free software for it. now stuck with unlock its gsm. as learning the process i got it locked again.

I have an old Vodafone K2540 data card , i use to use it for 2g on vodafone. not sure if it supports 3g or hsdpa. i would like to unlock and use my reliance gsm on it. as suggested in this post by aalok ji not sure what to dial in it as on mobile you just had to feed apn. ________________________________________________________________________________________ also my wifi router gave away recently , it was linksys and very pathetic. as had to reset it thrice a day at least. and now my bsnl modem also acting funny. i m thinking of getting a wifi router + dsl modem . can anyone suggest whether i ll have to buy from bsnl only or i can get from open market. (what would be the best model to go for?)

please explain what settings do you use. what no. to dial and user id and pass to use.(for data card) as in mobile i just had to feed apn - rcomnet

please throw some more light. what is the solution if photon has such problem?
