    Concerned over the national security, the Department of Telecom (DoT) had asked all operators to disconnect services to handsets that do not have IMEI number after November 30th 2009. The DoT move comes after security agencies found the these type mobile handsets with invalid IMEI has been used by terrorists.

    But now with a new software, developed by Cellular Operators Association of India (COAI) and Mobile Standards Alliance of India, users of such handsets could get genuine IMEI numbers and continue to receive telecom service, But for this the concern customers will have to visit the centers and get the IMEI downloaded into their handsets for a cost Rs.199/- (Rupees One Hundred Ninety Nine).

    The quality of call recording in C-5300 is pathetic.

    It creats a lot of noise while recording.

    Acccording to spice guys, the microphone is very sensetive.

    Completely agreed with you sir.. i've been using this set since its launch. Bought this just because of this recording feature but while listening to the recorded conversation, one can not figure out what the caller is speaking.. I bought this @ Rs. 3100.00 with 2 GB MicroSD Card (SanDisk)

    The phone itself comes with an upgraded UIM card, which is required to access data services from this handset.

    In fact, UIM Module of any Carrier (Reliance, Tata, Virgin, MTS, etc) will work on this phone but not DATA, only voice & text. The no. needs to be activated on the UIM card which comes with the phone.

    Any user of this phone? Can this phone be used as modem?

    Unfortunately not, This cannot be used as Modem..

    Bought this y'day for Rs. 3300.00 (with 2 GB Micro SD card), Good Battery Backup, Easy to use interface, Expandable Memory upto 8 GB..

    Features yet to explore.. This is a Open Market Handset (can be used with any CDMA Operator)..

    not yet i have been talking to the area manager RAJESH here in hubli from the day i posted this and he told me that stocks are available but has not supplied me. He just keeps on telling that he will deliver it to me. When i had asked him he told me that the handsets kkt11 and kkt22 are cdma / gsm handsets. Bt i myself am not clear as i have not got the handset.

    pls do post a feedback once you receive the handset, for the doubts & clarifications of other forum members...

    regarding the cdma/gsm issue, you can talk to the company official on 0120-4637100 (Noida Office of Lava International)..

    buy any CoolPAD from Reliance World (formerly, Reliance Webworld), & in case of any problem with the handset, get it replaced from the Reliance World only, for the first three months of purchase.. Even in Uttar Pradesh, i can assure you that.. Its a OMH Category in Reliance Worlds..
