In Mumbai also... I stay in Panvel and we are getting sim cards here..
Few of local shops are selling in black for 100 to 400 rupees..

He got the card from a retailer. -
The card got activated by Jio Backend.
But my friend is not able to activate by calling on 1977.
He got a message that you are not using a LYF Handset.
He has already complained to the retailer.. Waiting for his response.

Jio Sim Card is now available to all the persons.
Go to the local retailers submit your documents.
It is not available at Reliance Outlets..

A frustrating thing.
was the first to report about the samsung deal and my card is not activated till now..
Like around 8 days.. Got various reasons(Documents are clear).... I just hope it gets activated tomorrow..

Now after taking carrier update, my iPhone 6 is working fine on jio. Voice, sums, data working I checked 6s also. Both working fine

yup its cdma, listed on reliance as Dual SIM (CDMA/3G/LTE)
It is listed there but check the box image and reviews.
Check comments also.

I followed the steps as outlined in the following link to move Whatsapp to another phone however I am facing
issue.

1. I stopped using whatsapp on MI3.
2. I copied whatsapp folder from MI3 to 1+1 at the same location.
3. I installed whatsapp on 1+1.
4. On launching after validation process it picked up the backup and I can
see the messages.
The issue I am facing is it is showing messages only till November, 22 and not
till today's date. I factory resetted the 1+1 phone and followed the steps
again but same issue. Please could you help solve this issue.
Even i faced the same problem but my data not being important didn't do much...
You can try to delete the backup from old phone and make a new back up..
Then restore it on new 1+1...
