  1. Blackberry 8703e

Waseem, How much is the rental? and is this Rs.880 in addition to the monthly rental?
  2. Nokia 6088

Exactly. What is the use of camera if you can't even transfer it using BT...and where to store the images in absence of extendable memory? 2865 is much better...after all, who wants a VGA camera nowadays?
  3. Myth: Mobile Phone

By the way, I tried it on Nokia 3230 GSM..as expected it did'nt work.
  4. Suggest Good Handset Upto 3k

Get LG 3100 (basic color phone with FM), each costs about Rs.2K + activation charges. Or LG-3000...same as LG 3100 but w/o FM for Rs.1500 each
  5. Myth: Mobile Phone

I don't know whether any such codes exist or not. But my dear friend, it could definitely not be a feature which is supposed to be used in case of emergency...if you cannot even remember it...how do you expect anyone to google it during an emergency? But yes, I do believe that there is some amount of energy left in the battery, but if we are able to extract even the last drop of that juice, then it would definitely kill the battery and it would be very difficult to revive it later on...maybe, becoz of this reason, they do not disclose such codes (if they exist).
  6. Motorola V9m

This model does not seem to have RUIM as per the attached product note
  7. Even if you succeed, you would get booked for illegal activity i.e.cloning. It is not difficult for a service provider to catch such clones. And it is even easier to catch in case of cdma becoz the handset is network-locked.
  8. Now Imap On Gmail

    What is Imap?
  9. Best 2.1 Music System

Dear Pravin, Only one subwoofer is required becoz the low frequencies produced by woofers are non-directional in nature...i.e. keep the woofer anywhere in the room and still you would feel as if sound is coming only from the main speakers. It's not easy (actually next to impossible) to locate the location of a woofer by listening, hence there no need for a "stereo" pair. And even if more than one woofers are provided, there would be more of interference between them resulting in lots of unncessary boom sound. Actually, the test for a good sub-woofer well integrated with rest of the speakers is that you should perceive the sound to be coming only from main speakers and should not be able to locate the woofer.
  10. New Moto Handsets From Reliance

And now we have, on our forum, people from the Income tax dept
  11. RTL is a subsidiary of Reliance Communications, so whatever rcom has should be available to RTL. Is'nt TataTele (Maharashtra) using the same 92 series as Tata Tele? Tata Tele (Mah) is a subsidiary of Tata Tele.
  12. A Chinese B&W handset (probably zte) for Rs.1199 with only 6 months validity..then why not go for reliance's classic for 777 with 1 yr validity? or better still classic colour for Rs.999 I feel vodafone is testing the market before launching something like Rs.555.
  13. I don't feel Nokia would come back into CDMA becoz this patent fight involves WCDMA and not CDMA. And WCDMA technology is used for GSM.
  14. Agree...Video mode s**ks. But it is a digicam with video facility and not vice-versa and we cannot expect good video quality in low-light conditions from any digicam. After buying this, I thought I would be able to do away with my handycam but soon realised that a video camera is a video camera after all and and a digicam cannot be compared with it in terms of video quality. And similarly, the still image quality in my handycam is not worth talking about. And yes, ISO cannot be changed in video mode.
  15. ISO is the sensitivity of the sensor (traditionally the film) towards the light. Higher ISO means it is more sensitive and smaller amount of light would be reqd for appropriate exposure. Hence, only low-light conditions and fast-moving objects (like moving train or cars) require use of high ISO i.e. 400 and above. For normal daylight shooting or even night with flash, always keep ISO at 100. Technically, higher ISO in digicams means that the camera amplifies a very week light signal to a very high extent and in the process, noise is generated. Even for low-light conditions, instead of increasing ISO, always prefer to keep the cam on tripod or any stable surface and keep ISO=100, so that exposure time is automatically increased (in "P" mode) to a few seconds. And also remember that while using a tripod, it is better to switch-off IS because otherwise, the cam would try to reduce shake even though there is none.
  16. Are you operating at high ISO and IS mode=Off ? Just check and confirm. Picture quality is good ...in fact very good. Unless absolutely reqd..do not go above ISO 100. And IS is really awesome..I've shot at 24X zoom free-hand & could still make-out different buildings and structures. Yes, noise is high at ISO of 800 & higher...
  17. Diego

Thanks vishal. Its working on my 2865.
  18. N 6265 Security Pin

Goelji, 6265 is an UIM based handset. So your reply does'nt answer the question asked above.
  19. Airtel Among Global Top 10

I was going thru' bharti's last financial report for Q1. Their monthly churn in prepaid is in the range of 4% of their subscriber base...which means that on a base of 50 million, there would be appx 4%x50 = 2million customers leaving their network...in other words 20 lakhs customers leave them every month! ...just imagine!
  20. Blackberries 8830 (cdma + Gsm) World Phone

It's coming shortly as per Reliance website. Check at <blackberry.reliancemobile.com> ...8830 model is mentioned there
  21. Sound Card & Speakers

I had got "Polk Audio" 2.1 system thru' a friend from the US...about 4-5 years ago. It was too good...sounded better than creative...bass was much deeper. But these are not available in India and I doubt whether they are still selling them in the US. And now I too have become a creative fan.
  22. Reliance At Its Best

I am using tata sky...they sent me the billing statement for june and it was for the period: 1-31st June 2007 Comedy could happen anywhere
  23. Theoretical max speed in EDGE is 384bps if all the 8 timeslots are used each at 48kbps (48*8 = 384). This is what theory says...I've never used EDGE myself. But while using cdma, when I get best speeds, I am able to download 40-45 MB per hour (bittorrent files)
  24. Nokia 6275 Poor Battery Life

I guess the primary reason for reducing the charging voltage to 5.0 volts is to have an USB port to be used for charging the battery...I mean the handset would see the 5V from USB as acceptable voltage for charging. ...and of course lesser current also means saving in hardware costs
