  7. Nokia E72 - Please Help

i have used my friends e72. call volume is good you will not have any problem while talking. speaker volume is not good you might miss a call in a noisy environment and it might not be enough to wake you from sleep. same goes for talking via loudspeaker not all calls would be great if background is little noisy and other party is not having good reception. This is my personal experience and yes bb8520 has better sound than e72.
  8. CDMA 2000 1X Advanced, DO Advanced

MTS to Adopt CDMA 1X Advanced for its Indian Network India's Sistema Shyam TeleServices (SSTL), which trades under the MTS brand name, announced its plan to adopt CDMA based "1X Advanced" technology to support its growth plans in India. Says Mr. Vsevolod Rozanov, president and CEO of Sistema Shyam TeleServices Limited, "The unprecedented voice capacity of 1X Advanced will allow MTS to efficiently support more voice demand within the same spectrum, and offer high speed EV-DO based broadband data services in times to come. With interference cancellation and radio link enhancements, it will help MTS get more voice capacity over the same spectrum in future." 1X Advanced has been standardized by Third Generation Partnership Project 2 (3GPP2) in June 2009 and is expected to be commercially deployed in 2010. 1X Advanced uses the same spectrum and bandwidth as CDMA2000 1X, and significantly improves coverage and capacity with the same resources by employing cutting edge interference cancellation techniques as well as enhanced radio configurations. These improvements include base transceiver station (BTS) interference cancellation, enhanced power control, early frame termination, and smart blanking. "We congratulate MTS India for being the first CDMA2000 service worldwide to adopt 1X Advanced. This latest release of CDMA2000 1X technology will enable MTS India to meet its ambitious goals for 1X voice services while introducing EV-DO data services," said Mr. Kanwalinder Singh, senior vice president of Qualcomm and president of Qualcomm India and South Asia. "We will work closely with MTS India and our OEM partners to deploy 1X Advanced and keep MTS India's network on cutting-edge quality and economics for voice and data services." India is the second largest CDMA2000 market after the US with a subscriber base of over 100 million. MTS India is the only new entrant having license to operate in all 22 telecom circles across India. It currently has 1.7 million subscribers across six circles in India and has plans to complete the pan India roll-out in 2010. SSTL is a joint venture between India's Shyam Group and Russia's Sistema, which controls Russia's MTS mobile network operator. source http://www.cellular-news.com/story/39393.php
  9. New Blackberry 8530 Curve In Cdma Evdo

Any update about launch of this phone with rcom?
  10. New Blackberry 8530 Curve In Cdma Evdo

In that case i think i will go for corby speed. In my view paying full price for a product and not being able to use it independently is not fair. On one hand rcom is promoting OMH in a big way and still they are selling locked products on the other hand that too premium products which i dont think are even 1% subsidized.
  11. New Blackberry 8530 Curve In Cdma Evdo

will the 8530 be locked to rcom and will it have a ruim slot?
  12. no such plans in noida either

  17. after we make a call from rcom cdma does it tells the balance by sending a message like in all gsm prepaids or do we have to call to check the balance and is it possible to check the balance by sending a service command or do we have to use the ivr system?

  20. went to tata shop today and the salesperson confirmed about the offer. i was planning to take this scheme but i didnt had a cdma phone and tata guys showed me 3-4 sets all huewai and a samsung but i didnt like them. i have decided to buy a omh set or similar sets which can support tata sim. as this is going to be my secondary and first cdma phone please advice me which handsets i can consider in 2.5-3k range. about the offer i personally feel that this will best suit people who use 2 phones. one for short calls and this one for long calls otherwise they might not be able to save much especially in std calls if they dont make long duration calls. it is unclear whether biggies like airtel and rcom will respond to this move but i think new operators like mts and aircel will have have to do something about it. i also feel that it is a long term strategy by tata and and they will be able to sustain it profitabily in long run. please suggest me a good handset and also express your views about this move by tata.
  21. i am using samsung s3310 from past 2 months. good phone sleek and light weight. voice quality while talking is excellent ringtone and music quality is also good however speakers are on the backside due to which if u keep it one bed or any soft surface the sound from speaker may seem a bit low. battery is also good not excellent but good. u can talk for 6 hrs on one charge and phone lasts around 3 days on standby if used moderately. screen size is big which is good. good value for money way better build quality and looks than similar priced nokia phones. i recommend you go for it.
  22. airtel has just revised the broadband tarrifs. 1)freedom1699-1mbps unlimited with 100 mins of calls free. 2)freedom2999-2mbps unlimited with 300 mins of calls free. 3)turbo1299-512 kbps in Day/ 1 Mbps in Night unlimited with 100 mins of calls free. 4)velocity2999-8mbps with 50gb limit(looks a reasonable limit) with 300 mins of calls free. 5)velocity4999-16mbps with 100gb limit(looks a pretty decent limit) with 300 mins of calls free. these plans are foe delhi circle but similar plans are available for other circles also. just updated my plan to freedom 1699 . so people what do you think about these plans?
  23. Reliance GSM service initial reviews

i got a sim card on 3rd feb in the evening and it was activated next day. the network reception in delhi&ncr is very bad as of now as in noida where i live there is no network on the ground floor forget the basement. only able to get good network in my apartment which is on the third floor in my room as it is along the highway. i also went to delhi and network there was also not good as the phone will not show signal in certain areas even on the road. there was no network in basement parking of select citywalk mall in saket. i called customer care and complained about this and those people told me that they are setting new towers every day and the signal will improve shortly. one other problem i am having as of now is i am not able to call reliance gsm from my idea mobile as idea will say the number you are dialing is not correct. i would like like to hear review from my fellow delhiites about their experience with reliance gsm. please write your experiences guys. thank you.
