RCom GSM launches 999 offer for upcoming festive season

Reliance Communications announced the launch of a new promotional Pack 999 as part of the company’s promotion for Navrati, Durga Pooja and Dassera. The scheme is mainly designed for subscribers with high usage of local calls, STD calls and SMSes.
The voucher offers 999 local minutes on Reliance network as well as outside network, 999 STD minutes on Reliance Network as well as outside network and 999 SMS for local as well as national SMS. The operators says that at a price of Rs 999 the subscriber effectively gets value worth Rs 4000.
The scheme comes with 30 days validity. It will be available till September 30, 2009 for GSM prepaid subscribers in TN, Chennai, Kerala, Karnataka, AP, Mumbai, Maharashtra, Gujarat, Rajasthan, Delhi, Punjab, Haryana, J&K, UP-East and UP-West

Some of the points Reliance authorities has to understand if they want to survive in the market as well as if they want to save their bread and butter particularly in Mobile business they have to think that in this competative market "People are not sleeping".
People understand so well the money calculation after TATA-DOCOMO has come up with the offer 1p/1s pulse and BSNL also.
So RGSM has to understand the fact in a relevant way rather than trying to make public fool.
At first they need to upgrade their network. Still now I face the problem at peak hours while calling in any number ---"All routes are busy please dial after some time". Too much of noise during call between R-GSM and other GSM. These are the existing burning problem.
How do they expect people will recharge with Rs.999 per month basis with these network quality.
Wake up buddy for your survival in mobile business.

Today I enquired customer care and it was informed that recharge with Rs 21 till 31st August and get lifetime validity and one year tarrif all local calls(landline and mobile) 50 paise and all STD Rs 1.To make STD lower,recharge with Rs 75 to get 150 STD minutes for 30 days.So efectively all calls become 50 paise per minute STD and local.I think this is the lowest tariff with out spending any monthly special tariff voucher.
R-GSM should launch a STD pack like Rs.33/- with 1 month validity with STD tarrif 50p/min to any phone. Then it will be useful,otherwise everytime 75 STD pack recharging is painfull for customers whose STD calls are more than local calls. Regarding 21 recharge the offer mentioned above is good for customers whose local calls are more.

Reliance GSM has a poor network even in Mumbai. They have miles to go ahead as compared to their CDMA network.
I purchased Reliance GSM two weeks ago and I am facing severe network problem at my home and office (both in Mumbai). It is surprising that Reliance has not focussed to improve its network even in metros like Mumbai. And on top of it, the customer care guys are not ready to register your complaint.
When I purchased the GSM card, a leaflet accompanying it said customer care would issue a docket number for every complaint. Today, I tried to lodge complaint, but the guy flatly refused to register it saying, it was not an individual problem. I told him let it be, but give me a docket number so that I can follow up at least my issue. He agains refused. These customer care guys are so hardened, they do not budge an inch to what ever you try to reason.
I have sent an email to Reliance customer care and service assurance and I hope they would be sensible enough to sort out the problem.
I also own a Reliance CDMA and have no issues with the network. Thats why, perhaps, I never had a chance to speak to the rude and discourteous customer care guys of Reliance.

Have some patience. In Bangalore also when they launched GSM service network condition was horrible,now after 3 months it seems to me quality is improving a little bit but gradually. They are in a hurry to rollout GSM service all over India before Tata-Docomo captures the market. So quality is suffering.

May I know who gave you this information and for which location it is applicable? Their official website www.rcom.co.in is still showing 75STD pack is giving 100STD mins where as you are telling 150STD min. If it is really there they need to upgrade their website so that people get correct information.

The website has not yet been updated. But when i dial *367*3# this iffer is listed. I am also from Karnataka. Not sure if it is available in other circles

I have checked with the customer care. The information is correct for Karnataka. Other circles not sure.
75 STD Pack : 150 STD Mins
145 STD Pack : 300 STD Mins
285 STD Pack : 600 STD Mins
Above packs are applicable for Karnataka R-GSM.
Good scheme as of now in the market.

I have a Reliance GSM number which is working on name of someone else. I want to change it to my name and address.
Reason is I want to use this number for Bank alerts purpose etc.

It happened for me also. My SIM is being registered by other's name till now. I called up to the Customer Care and told them. Rather they will take the complaint from me they are telling they never do re-selling of SIM ,so my claim is fake. Then I went to the R-Web World and told them in this regard. They told me application form for giving my details has been finished, so come sometimes later. It seems to me this is not at all a serious issue to R-COM. It is happening every day,so don't take tension. That is their responsibilty not urs. You can register your number with your bank ,no probs will be arised,till and unless you loss your SIM.

It is working fine for GSM too. I did for three times. No issues so far at least to me.
May be they are implementing it for all over India circle gradually. I have not tried it now, I will try again.

About refund of your money, email myservices@relianceada.com and customercare@relianceada.com , along with details of your payment which you can obtain from your netbanking by checkin transaction details. It gets refunded in 5 days.

Have patience. Telecom operators also have to survive with profit growth. From next month onwards Idea is slashing STD call rate to 50p/min as far the plan I came to know but with how much bonus pack that is not clear till now.

I know the information about Bangalore. May be available to the other circles once it is rolled out.

I am also experiencing the same set of problems, like Network Quality , Busy Lines , Poor Customer Care (Route is busy for *333) this is totally opposite what Reliance Communications had promised when they launched the RGSM-CEP.
I am in Gurgaon City in DELHI NCR.
There is only one word for Reliance GSM ------"TOTAL FAILURE"
Actually, RCOM is in hurry to rollout GSM network in all over India rather than concentrating on quality of network. That is the reason people are facing problems. Wait for some time they have to improve the quality of their network for their existence and survival. So be sure of it that it will be rectified.

The night time is a pain in the you-know-where.... One cannot connect any onnet call between 11pm to 7am.....This is my experience....ya its diffcult
bt these days in my circle in tamilnadu its easier to connect
n i m using it daily from 11pm to 2 am
bt on some rare days there are difficulties here too
The above mentioned problem will be resolved as soon as Tata-Docomo will enter on that particular circle. In Bangalore also we faced the same problem now it got resolved after tata-docomo came into the market.

STD Calling card 650 is available for RGSM only,I don't know whether the same is available in RCDMA or not. But R-R free call is applicable for Reliance network only, it may be RGSM to RCDMA,RGSM to RGSM and RGSM to RLandline any where in India. STD Calling card 650 is valid for 2months and having talktime Rs.589.49/- (for 2months).

Thank u very much sir for all that information. So now i've just to buy RGSM sim and use the STD calling card. This is a very good option for those who want R2R free,
in the night time, at least. Its quite surprising that people don't know much about it despite of all its positive things. I mean, providing free unlimited STD in the night time along with the talking time of about Rs. 600/- for Rs 650/- and that too for 2 months !!

Then why don't people go for it ??
People don't go for it because people want hassle free life. Some drawback of STD calling card :
1) Appending *3750 every time while calling STD number is irritating. Suppose you have 100 STD number in ur phonebook then u hav to append *3750 100 times for one time call to the 100 numbers. That is no doubt an awesome job.
2) You can not use STD balance Rs.590.89/- for making local calls that means u hav to invest separately for making Local calls with in tat 2months validity period. That is an wonderful business tactics made by RCOM.
3) Previuosly while people tried to call at night from 11pm to 6am they used to face the problem "All routes are busy please dial after some time" . Thankfully Tata-Docomo came into the market and the above mentioned problem got resolved over night "chutiki se" to retain back 650 customers.
4) Reliance also didn't think that Tata-Docomo can give 1p/1s this kind of unbelievable offer. From June,2010 Etilasat Telecom DB (one UAE based telecom giant) is entering into the Indian market using Reliance Tower in share. GOD knows what offer they will give.
So reasons are clear to you I hope.

May be I am wrong but pardon me the best GSM network in the world either on Nokia-Siemens network or Ericsion network. Chinese network is cheap but quality is not upto mark. In india too AIrtel, Vodafone are not with chinese network even new operator Tata-DOCOMO is also on Nokia-Siemens network. You can ask from anyone who had taken TATA-DOCOMO coneection. There is no problem in network since first day.
One little modification. Tata-Docomo GSM Technology as a whole provided by INMARSAT that is why they do have a superb GSM network quality as CDMA. You just make a call from Tata-Docomo to Tata-Docomo or any CDMA number you will feel the difference from other GSM network provided by Vodafone,Idea,Airtel etc.

Yes! Tries to recharge, and although Money has deducted from account but neither any record shows the payement nor money returned back.Hence Dont try for Online recharge for Reliance GSM numbers.

I did'nt get the money back in my account nor recharge took place successfully. I went to Reliance Communication Customer Care they refused to take my request to revert back money. This is the actual condition of the service being provided by Reliance to the customer. In case of other operators if recharge fails due to any reason I returned back money within 4 working days without failure. Reliance Communication is first ever I have faced who refused to take the complaint at least, forget about to get back money from them.

it will take i think more then 6 months atleast to get a normal gsm network in relianceI think it is not!
I'm using my smart connection for 2 years and till the start they are telling YOUR PROBLEM WILL BE RESOLVED WITHIN 72 HOURS!
Now think, 4 six months have passed.
I think their network not so strong to provide service to a large number of users!
And the most amazing thing is that, There is two network station near my house in Serampore (WB, Kolkata), one is of Vodafone and one is Reliance Smart but after working for 2-3 months, this station is out of SERVICE!!!
Now what you will tell for them???
GSM and CDMA are totally two different technologies. So quality difference will be there that is natural. But in case of RGSM case is something different,problem is they don't want to invest to improve network quality while they want to retain back customers by giving cheap call rate. As a result customers become fool. My home is also in Konnagar(WB) there also the same problem. Lets Tata Docomo GSM (like RGSM) to enter in WB by Oct,2009. All problems will get resolved.

I am a new user of reliance and have just bought a new RGSM sim. From somewhere i came to know that a STD calling card worth around Rs. 650 is available in reliance with which i can call free R2R at night for 2 months. Is that true? Does that calling card works on prepaid GSM too?
Please give me full details about this calling card, its validity and its availability in Bangalore.

STD Calling card Rs.650/- is available in Bangalore also. But to use that card don't forget to do as below
Append *375 + STD Code + Number . Suppose you want to call mobile number 9433117798 then you have to dial *37509433117798. If you forget to do the mentioned process then money will be deducted form your main account at a rate Rs.1.50/min. There is a concept of two account system in RGSM one is main account another is STD account when u dial *3750 then money will go from STD account. Keep it in mind R2R free only from 11pm to 6am time duration beyond that time STD call charges will be Rs.0.75/min to any STD mobile/landline for 650 STD calling card.

^while both of u are right that reliance cannot be squarely blamed ,at the same time there is a point in saket's argument.. 16+45 is the fixed cost and variable cost of 1 re more per every call in the reliance offerI am placing my question again. Is this offer available in karnataka or is it only for MP?

First they introduced RC 46 with 20 bucks TT, then they brought it down to 25 with 0 TT and now the same tariffs are introduced with the above RC 101 - the only addition seems to be 100 local free SMS' Seems the honchos at RCOM decided to make use of extra revenues by pricing it higher and offering TT to compensate the low tariffs. Airtel offer is totally different than Reliance. Reliance restricts customer to spend money in any one,either STD or Local but not in both. Like after 100 STD min again customer has to go for recharge for 39 which is irritating.While in case of Airtel it is Rs.77 bonus card recharge with bundled offer for STD and Local both(A2A Local:50p,A2O Local:60p,A2A STD:50p,A2O STD:60p) valid for 3 months. So you need not to go to for recharge again and again,once u r done with 77 after that u recharge with good amount of topup and be cool for 3 months.
