  1. Sprint Htc Hero - The Latest Android Kid On The Block

Hero will be getting official update to android 2.1 on march 26!! hope this time XDA forums info is correct. But as is expected 2.1 may loose root so would it be good idea to rather wait for root exploit on 2.1 I have started getting "signal fadded-call dropped" more frequently, i am in same area of use. While searching for solutions I came across newer radio. Has anyone any Idea about this radio and would it be safe to update the radio on hero? would that solve my problem? People are claiming better battery life and better signals, but I need advice before experimenting.
  2. Sprint Htc Hero

Its great now I am able to surf but for some reason lots of sites were not opening. I saw a pattern mail logins, bank logins do not work. Then I went to junefabric site and found free version has restrictions. The problem is I seem to have forgotten whether these were working on earlier version, If so I would prefer to downgrade the version. Or am I missing some setting...

I often get SenseUI restarted message (which takes a while to complete) when using such auto task killer applications Sir that is the good thing about this app. Though it is called "killer" it is totally different from other killers. It never kills applications which are running in foreground or have active service. Infact it only sets slighty higher parameters for the already present internal memory manager, so works just as android os would work. Believe me you would not require any other killer ever. Also it provides presets which are less agressive as well, you may choose if needed.

I am not sure if it has been mentioned in this forum but paid apps would not normally appear on google market. To enjoy the full market including Paid applications one install MarketEnabler from market which is a free application. On hero Settings>>Applications>>Development>>Allow mock locations check this and enable Then before launching market launch MarketEnabler and choose any of the locations (I usually choose US-ATT or IT) and that's it... get full catalogs.
  5. Sprint Htc Hero - The Latest Android Kid On The Block

First of all I would like to thank all the members of the forum, especially Doc and dkalie. My journey started with plea for help for Blackberry storm on reliance. Not only did I get it running I learnt a lot through my R&D on htc touch diamond and touch pro then touch pro 2, all successfully running on Rel. But the best was when I got Myself HERO... What a phone. Thanks Gaurav for recommending it to me. I doubt there is a better phone on reliance and as Dkalie says so flawless that one tends to get bored!! I wish to contribute something, and first would be an excellent Memory Manager (not my creation but just that I have been following this project How to configure Android's *internal* taskkiller by Androcheck from development stage and now this is available even on market.) Android does not have real end key yet it handles multiple tasks far better than any other OS. That is because Out of memory killer is standard kernel process and based on the set parameters for critical threshold for applications in foreground, background and empty apps, etc it auto-kills. developers have now made software to push more aggressive values to automatically kill applications yet only based on priority list, that is much better than how any other task killer works. Below are the two applications available in market. 1. "AutoKiller" minfree manager i am using this as it is more user friendly and better UI 2. "MinFreeManager" 1.6 I have not needed task managers since i have installed it. Those interested can read about the project on "http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=622666" Thanks.
  6. Sprint Htc Touch Pro - Problems & Solutions

SORRY...SORRY but actually I never meant to discuss the forbidden. Only thought what should be the sequence of events...anyways. I tried to search for reliance.prl but could not locate it. Though somewhere i found zip file having two reliance prl and I don't know which one of these is right one if at all. I also found reliance EVDO prl. will that be better will it work at all. Also in the first post of this thread Rel NetConnect and Rel MobileWorld cabs and Rel Settings cabs are mentioned but not to be found. I got one link but requires premium rapidshare account only. Please help to some links. PRL-TATA & RIM.zip reliance EVDO card.rar
  7. Sprint Htc Touch Pro - Problems & Solutions

I wish to just know the sequence of 1.unlocking cmonex hspl 2.loading custom roms (like mighty rom) 3.setting up epst for reliance. 4.esn repair and radio setup. for the sake of newbies like me, this might help in summarizing few things because what we see is lot of information scattered. Though we get it we would appreciate if sequence from say sprint Diamond/Touch Pro to working on reliance is at least revised again here at one place.
  8. Sprint Htc Touch Pro - Problems & Solutions

Sir, Probably 6.5 may slow down the UI vis a vis 6.1, something like what vista does to system compared to XP?
  9. Sprint Htc Touch Pro - Problems & Solutions

Can I do the EPST settings directly on the fresh imported TP from eBay with original ESN? Are these sets MEID or ESN based? Sorry, I am just toddler. Thanks
